Yes - true.
But for the sake of a silly bug - I'm still hoping CCP has some ideas .. the bright sparks that they seem to be ..
Problem is that if its an x64 issue unless they swap the application over to x64 the issue may never be resolved. --------- Liberty Rogues Site[/center]

From this thread - I think it is likely it is a x64 problem .. but this bug only appeared after the patch ..
.. so that suggests if it was introduced by new code .. newer code might fix it - x64 bit or not.

I'm using Vista 64bit Ultimate and I was getting this problem, briefly, after apocrypha, even though before apocrypha it was all fine and nothing changed except the expansion coming out. But after i stopped using the VBscript that forces AA+HDR compatibility and moved the script out of the main eve directory, i stopped getting this. My Eve Shortcuts all point to eve.exe not exefile.exe. Which might have something to do with it *shrug* ______________________________________________ Haruhiist since December 2008

Hey guys, saw this post looking for something else, but thought I would comment. Those of you thinking its only a 64 bit issue, it may be, but just before patch day on test I got this problem, thought it was just the way I had it installed but maybe that wasn't the case.
I'm running XP Home SP3. But I am also running an Nvidia card GTX285. And yes the new Eve looks amazing. Hope this helps.

From this thread
Open the properties of your eve shortcut and ensure that it points to "C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\EVE\" (or whatever the root directory of your eve installation is)
memdump.txt is now created in the game root and eve starts regularly.

Thanks for fixing this - last patch, CCP. It was starting to frustrate me.

Happens to the best of us.
Perhaps I shouldn't have given life to a dead thread.
