FYI
I agree that the game should stay as it is, not because of any logical or asthetic reasons, but purely for balance... making a change of this nature, this late in the game, would only serve to inhibit newbies like myself while leaving veteran players unaffected and laughing.
I was just defending the original poster's logic.
He brought up a good point, it made sense. As you say, there is no way it will be implemented, but that is no reason to flame him.

I agree things should stay as they are in terms of existing skills and learning. However you could add one additional skill set which allows mastery of race related learning. This might encourage single race based players a little more. |

I disagree with this. Racial knowledge does not get stored in yor DNA, why would you be able to train a certain races skills faster then others.

I like it the way it is. I dont care if its unrealisitc or anythign it is a game if I want real life well I wont play eve.
Also I think the fact that you arent limied by what race and profesion you chose to start the game is the BEST feature of eve and changing this would limit it and make eve another of those half assed chose wisely in the begining or your screwed and have to start over mmorpgs. Thanx but no thank I quit enb to take up eve over a year ago for a reason .

You people are way to obsessed with 'balance' Even if the old timers get a slight advantage as the game progresses that advantage turns into nill.
Life isn't about balance and games shouldn't be either.
Making other races ships harder to learn makes sense, they're foreign. Regardless of how you learn it or use it, you're still more familiar with your own races technology.

Did it occur to anyone that training time is based on attributes and that races have different strating attribute levels ? or at least attribute preferences ? we all have the same attribute poinnt total to be fair but some races can achieve higher attribute levels in certain attributes then other races in other attributes ...think of the minmattar perception and willpower and gallente charisma or intelligence ...
So in a certain way some skills are easier to learn by certain races...
