I will be Honest
IMHO once a war has started there should be no leaving till the war is over
I know why its not so though but how about a fine system for leaving a corp at war (along with the 24 hour timer) the fines should be large and paid to the corp who declared the war (spoils of war)
what do you all think ??

Originally by: Cutter John so then what happens when some super pirate corp declares war on a 1 week old noob corp just for the fun of it? there has to be some way for people who absolutely dont want/can't fight to protect themselves, as anyone can simply declare war. we just tell those people to suck it up and take the beating they are about to get, or just not even play for a week or so until the war is ended? leaving the corp until the war ends seems to be about the only way to protect tiny weak corps from large corps that want to gank them. anyway, just some food for thought. and i know that it doesnt happen very often, but it does happen. and its not fun .
all you are saying there are true
that is also why i know why its possible to leave a corp while it is at war thats the exact reason you gave there
with that said its not fair to the real corp wars out there and i hope that this new system (coming in shiva) where it costs money to declare a war will help the small corps that does not want to fight from getting wars declared on them just because its fun to pick on NOOB miner corps in 1.0 and .9
now this is all asuming that its even allowed (not a exploit or grieffing) to declare war on a Noob corp for no reason CCP in my opinion would see a pattern if a corp declared war on only small new corps and i asume the individuals behind this would be banned also i dont know of any corps that does this just for fun (especially after the 1 mill thing)
if we asume that the corps that does exploit the war system is few and far between then not being able to leave a corp doing a war (or atleast having to pay a fine to do so) would make sense

there should be a conciquence (bad spelling) from leaving a corp once the war goes bad though
the best solution would be that you are free to leave during the 24 hour warning period (before the war starts) and if you do not log on during the 24 hour warning period you should recive a eve mail and when you log on you should get a notify saying your corp is at war with corp X they have 50 members do you want to leave the corp you are in yes/no if you chose no you are in for the duration if you chose yes you cant rejoin the corp
this would mean that any corp has 24 hours to disolve if a war is declared upon them if they dont they are in for the duration
also any member should be allowed to leave during the war for a fine paid to the agreser corp (or the corp that you are at war with)
having a scale making it more expensive for a huge corp to declare war on a tiny one is also a good idear
