ok i have a decent system, my soundcard is an audigy 2 variant with latest drivers. but the sound just keep stuttering all the time in apocrypha? it worked fine in quantumn rise and works fine in every other game. since patch the sound is really annoying like an old worn out record, and the button for hardware accelleration has dissapeard?, is there a value in an .ini file somewhere i can fix the sound, i dunno like making more sound buffers or sumthin???

Yeah, the sounds suck now. It used to be that incoming gunfire, missile hits, or jump-gating were pretty strenous events. Now they're...just afterthoughts. Not really concerning at all. Hmm.

Having similar problems. On log in, sound is fine. Few seconds into combat, missile launch sounds, impacts from enemy weapons, and other combat sounds just cut out completely, usually there is a loud static "pop" before the sounds cut out. I also noticed that Salvager mods just give the popping static sound now, instead of their normal sound effect. Very annoying. Disabling and re-enabling audio in game will fix the problem for about 20 seconds, but it occurs again almost immediately.

I found that the eve sounds are now super quiet, and the eve-voice (VOIP, not npc voice) is the same, so I had to crank all the eve volumes up to max to have even a chance at hearing them, without having the eve voice super loud.
Oh a side note, any idea why we can't adjust the inbound volume for the eve-voice? It's really annoying.... |

Ok what you are describing is different from the general sound problems being reported with this patch. I had the same thing last night while trying to troubleshoot those more general problems so here's a suggestion.
Go into your computer's audio properties and make sure under advanced performance that hardware acceleration is all the way "on". Any setting less than that, for me, caused the audio skipping you are describing. After that you may need to turn off all audio in EVE and then turn it back on to sort of reset it. Give that a try. |

Same problem here - little or no sound, or sounds are intermittent. Just had a 15minute fight with 2 Ishkurs, and through the whole thing I got no FX sounds even though everything is turned up.
..Silent fighting just doesnt do it for me |

Sound seems to work fine for first 30 minutes to an hour then I also lose all combat sounds. In missions the only other sound I can hear is the bass sound of the warp gates. Very annoying having bass turned right down and still getting a loud humming sound. Does it on both my desktop and laptop. |

My sounds are messed up to... Have to turn up sounds to hear anything in space, but its still VERY quite. Then when I dock I loose my hearing due to my volume all the way up (btw, hanger sounds work great!) Audio, works fine too.
CCP please tell us if this is our issue or if it is yours and that your working in it.

Edited by: Lord Myre on 13/03/2009 14:26:31 There was a post about the audio being 5.1 now. And since your most likely on 2 speakers or head phones the sound will suck since your settings are most likely set to 2 speaker configurations. I have an X-FI Fatality card and I use Shure (SP)headphones (Sweet btw) and audio is balls. When i switch the SB software to 5.1 speaker config the sound levels are much more level but still messed up since only headphones. Try to trick your sound software into thinking it is using 5.1 speakers and it may help till they patch it. Needs an audio setup section in the game settings screen so we can choose 5.1 or 2 speaker config. They also set the sound to be more directed to where the closer you are the louder the sound and also directional........not best imo.
You know you have played way to much Eve when you are in a car accident and run away so you dont get podded. |

I am also having sound related issues, either when using my speakers or headset, my right audio will pop and then go out, only happening in eve as i can still hear fully when in vent, i found that disabling the sound in eve settings and then re-enabling it again fixes it, this has happened 3-4 times in the last 2 days.
