Edited by: Eveneth on 13/03/2009 02:57:42 Edited by: Eveneth on 13/03/2009 02:57:02 So I recently went into a wormhole and came across some sleepers (in a Brutix) and managed to do fairly well.
Brutix setup: 6x Heavy Ion Blasters II's (Void ammo) 1x scan probe launcher
AB II 3x Cap Recharger II's
2x Med Armor Rep II's DCU II Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II Cap Flux Coil II
Auxiliary Armor Pump Nanobot Accelerator Trimark Armor Pump
That should be everything.
Anyway, after taking out a significant number, I decided to move on to another Sleeper complex. There I was overrun, and eventually destroyed. My question is, what Gallente ship would be the best to take into a complex?...a BC or a BS. Out of those two categories, I was thinking either the Brutix (Sleepers seem to really like drones so the Myrm and Domi are out), or the Hyperion. Any feedback on either of those (or other ideas) would be very much appreciated.

Well I have yet to venture into W space, but I would imagine its similar to fighting normal rats, except that drones are out of the question. Mega or Hype would be fine, I would prefer the Mega just becasue its cheaper and has generally the same effectivness. Also it has a utility high for some remote rep / probe laucher.
From what I understand, if you hang in shallow W space you should be alright, but some of the more high end stuff does far more DPS than any solo ship can handle. Just be careful and get insured before you leave.

I'm going to say dominix for the drone escape tactic it can use.
Since sleepers switch agro very fast if you dump loads of light drones they all attack the light drones...
Can imagine the drone agro will make it hard to use drones for damage however, could always try to keep drones alive with remote rep but something tells me that's going to be a futile effort.
Also, LOL void ammo?! Why not faction?

Brutix and Myrm are both fine.
The 'secret' to avoid damage is being close to the BS Sleepers. They do crazy damage at long range with their lazors. Once you are within 10 clicks you can even speed tank them with an AB. If you are too far away you can tank one with dual armor rep, when two of them start to shoot you it's a question of time until your tank breaks. I have yet to try tracking disruptors on them, but it could be worth a try.
Drones work on Sleepers, just pull them in when a new spawn arrives and watch them carefully. When you see them taking damage you can usually still call them back and redeploy. - That is for gangs, solo I would not bet on it.
Even battleships and commandships have troubles tanking some of the spawns and it seems that they become bigger when you bring in more powerful ships.
I'd also recommend a cap booster instead of 3 cap rechargers, that will free two mid slots for more useful stuff like a web or a tracking computer on your Brutix and some of the Sleepers like to neut you.

I taked a dual cap boosted myrm and it fails really hard solo...because u allways have to tank them...and u are allways losing cap.. dont feed more need for cap in med slots u will just run out of boosters after the second spawn.
I didnt tested the brutix... but it seems u'l need to take a set of ecm drones, maybe vespas, at least (and i dont know also if it works on sleepers)
The myrm did well cap recharged, and rails on it... just dont take drone to far away... more than 10km is too much... omni active tank dcu and single repped i could take the damage.
I have a mega fitted and ready for this, i dont know if i would take rails or blasters. And btw... does anyone tryed to snipe them out?
I saw a hyperion get poped really hard in the last W-space i entered, but it seems to that the guy flying the doomed ship was kinda noob too... and i didnt know for sure what was the spawn he was engaging. (to bad i didnt get into the sleepers KM)
Anyone tryed astarte allready? it could do more damage and take much better at the same time.

Tracking disruptors help, especially the range scripts. 50km is where the BS I've fought have sat, and one TD helped, and the 2nd really made it tolerable. Also, drones are fine as long as they are not perceived as the primary threat. So, keep two or three high DPS ships and the drones will probably be okay, because the DPS boats will stay primaried. Really, if you are doing this with a group of 4 or 5, your drones are probably fine. RR makes it all pretty easy, generally two maybe three people get targeted, and the breaking up of the DPS makes it fairly simple. I can see that with just two ships or solo it could suck versus the larger groups.

The group i run WHs with have figured out how to keep drones pretty much safe. 2 domis each has a energy transfer, and you keep them running the whole time. Generates enough threat so they just switched between the domis! Tacky Lensflares in sigs ftw

Edited by: Triss S''Jet on 15/03/2009 16:28:56 I'm doing good with this config:
Hyperion: 6x 425mm Railgun II Salvager I Core Probe Launcher I
Domination 100mn MWD 2x Cap Recharger II Tracking Computer II (scripts changed accordingly to situation) Sensor Booster II (scripts changed accordingly to situation)
LAR II Armor Kinetic Hardener II Armor Explosive Hardener II 2x Mag II DMC II
3x CCC I
Basically I'm keeping out of their lasers range with 130km optimal.
