trying to work out how the in game ehp (effective hit points) and the eve fitting tool ehp is worked out because on my hurricane setup in game i get 28k ehp but on eve fitting tool i get 48k ehp any know how they are working it out as such thanks

I'm not sure what the difference is, but i'd trust CCP over 3rd part applications any day.
That said, i am looking forward to an up-to-date EFT, as it's a lot of hassle to jump onto Sisi each time i want to test a setup.

Are your resistance modules activated in game when you check your EHP?

The ingame EHP calculator does not seem to take active hardeners and your DCU into account.

It does when you open the fitting screen in space with modules activated.

yeah i undocked and turned them on and i have an eanm dc2 and 1600plate doesnt add the dc2 till i undock and turn it but does it take into account rigs ingame? got a trimark on aswell might be that, turnin the dc2 on in space gives me 38k ehp still missing that 10k

EVE and EFT use different meaning for EHP.
EFT show how much damage will kill you with equal damage distribution 25% EM, 25% Thermal, 25% Kinetic, 25% Explosive.
EVE show how much damage will kill you against your lowest resist(for shield, armor and structure separately)
