Ok i'm currently trying to write a little fan fic for some fun in my spare time but have come across a pretty basic question.
How do pod pilots contact the outside world when in captains quarters? It's mainly to solve the problem of contacting an agent to accept a contract, I presume you'd either walk down and do it in person or call them up, possibly email or message them?
Current train of thought is that they're unplugged so a feed via the ship is unlikely. Voice controlled computer maybe? Dabbled with the idea of calling up Aura. Maybe an interface in your quarters to send a message, but that just seems a little too manual for a pod pilot (in the same way that walking down to see the agent seems a little too 'manual')
Anyhow that's the niggle for today, anyone know if there's precedent for this already written down somewhere? ^^ |

I'm not sure of any official canon regarding non-pod comms for capsuleers but just of the top of my head it occurs to me that the quarters are awash with technology such as the holographic displays both on the balcony and at the table in additon to the large displays that dominate the room.
It's no stretch of the imagination to assume a secure wireless network exists within each CQ, connecting the capsule with the various screens and displays throughout. This could, afterall be how the CQ instanlty displays the correct information and we're not presented with the hanger contents and market transactions of a random pilot two rooms along the corridor.
As we know, capsuleer clones are heavily augmented with spinal plugs for interfacing with the capsule and so the inclusion of a subdermal implant that allows us to "remotely" use the pod's communication interface could be the answer to your question.

I know we have the screens and things, maybe we have neural implants that allow us to interact with our holograms and such, I remember on Sisi the avatars would make hand motions when interfacing with some of the CQ objects, like they were doing "Minority Report" motions or something. I think in EVE's case there's probably a bit of "Ghost is the Shell" brain/computer interface stuff going on, that's what I'd like to believe anyway. |

Thanks for the help ^^ implants i'd toyed with and sub-dermal was the word that hooked me :)
EnGÇÖrie called up the holo-display built in to the coffee table in front of him using a sub-dermal implant. Life un-plugged from the pod could be inconvenient in some ways, but implants at least meant that he could maintain a level of connectivity. He flicked through his list of contacts until he found the agent entry he was looking for.

After a short wait a holo of Eladette appeared. GÇÿAh EnGÇÖrie, was wondering if you weGÇÖre ever going to get back to me.GÇÖ |
