Hi all, I've got a basic POS in WH-S. Just wondering if there's anything I can do to increase the money I make from the sleeper loot / salvage - ie some kind of Reactor at the POS to convert the raw materials?
Cheers :)

The only way to maximise profits is to calculate the total value of items you bring back to empire space AND sell or use.
Before this happens you haven't made a tangible profit, except for the fun and teamwork involved, which (at this point) isn't measured in ISK. -------------------------- Life is about memories the more the better. Eve Online Batch Calculator |

Yea, the logistics in supplying your POS for extended time are probably going to cost more than funding w-space discoveries and expeditions, and keeping the POS in k-space (known space). I, however, don't want to tell you how to play. If you think you've got a money maker there, all the luck to ya :)

It really depends on how the t3 market turns out. That will take some time to settle.
If it takes off then harvesting gas and setting up your POS to churn out polymers may be an option.

"Shallow" wormhole space, in my opinion, is worth precisely **** as far as sleeper loot goes. This is intended-it's right outside hisec and easy to scan down, not to mention easy to escape. I don't see the point of a POS here to be honest.
If you want to set up a serious wormhole base, I'd go deeper into w-space. At least, stay out of "Unknown" and go to "dangerous" or "Deadly" unknown. You WILL need corpmates to help you handle the sleepers, but the profit should be very nice.

well, i spent about 6 hours in w-h space (off a 0.5 system), not active all the time, and spent far more time getting loot/salvage than i would have liked, i made about 40m+, and i've not sold it all yet.
if i'd had a pos i'd have prob doubled that as i would have had a dedicated salvage ship available, and a barge for the hemo/hedb belts. a small pos does not cost an enormous amount to run (once you get past the purchase) i just lack an orca to get the stuff in in one hit.
risk/reward i wouldn't put any thing expensive in w-h space, if you want to run reactions get a k-space pos....
make the pos work harder by getting more people using it... -------- Pherlopolus

I still don't get this.
A w-space med/large POS is so much safer than a lo-sec POS of equivalent size. It's much harder to bring the force to bear to take down a deathstar in w-space. Not impossible, but it's a logistical slog.
