Right, so I've just just completed (I think) the epic storyline.
It ended quite abruptly, I chose the Caldari route, went to meet this admiral dude in his raven, destroyed a Society of Concious Thought ship, took Dagan, and dropped him off in an industrial next to four battleships from each race and a drone hive.
What's this about? Am I missing something? Is there more missions? I have no idea what happened there.

Same here, though I went the minmatar route. It ended with some hints on "to be continued" after handing Dagan over to the SoE. I checked the last Minmatar agent and back at the Sisters in Arnon, but no new mission part.

Nope there are no more missions in the epic arc. I took the Gallente ending (obvious) and yep dropped Dagan in the transport. I get the idea from the way the mission is worded that shortly after you leave the transport is a chunk of red glowing slag. At least that's how I see it damn it.
Keep in mind that it's a L1/L2 mission run designed more for new players to sight see (oohhhh battleship.... arrrrr carrier.... eeep cruiser) and to test the tools used to build these things in anger.
Still abrubt ending or not, I found it quite fun.

Hey,
You ppl are missing the point. The next epic mission is with another epic agent.
Trust me, not even GMs will say where or who is the next epic agent. Once you find the next epic agent, you can unrabble more epic missions.
PS: I spoke with GMs and they won't say, so if you have dealt with Sister Alitura, then we are doing the same thing.
We all need to find who else is the next epic agent so one can follow the mission from the other side of the story or begin a different epic storyline.

That will be quite a challenge since there are no other epic mission arcs currently in the game. This is the only mission for now. CCP is working on many others once they've worked out the bugs in the new mission system.

So is there a big "payoff" of some type at the end? ISK? Standings?

For all of the missions combined you get something like 10 mil
