I failed a partical phyiscs test at school and, after calculateing its curve and final impact on my grade, it won't really affect it in a way i still couldn't get an A.
But...Why do I still feel like a monumental peice of useless space? I feel like a minmatar battleship.
should I feel this way? and what should I do? so far the viable options i've been given are:
1.just go on with life 2.think about good thing's ive done 3.kill myself 4.give someone my stuff in eve 5.switch to buisness major
thats what all my friends have told me. im just not sure which one is the right choice.

I was always good at math until I hit pure math. I just couldn't get my head around sine/cosine/tangent etc. I got good grades until my last couple of years at school when I failed my finals in math.
After I left school, I started writing a sci-fi story and being a bit of a perfectionist, I preferred to make sure when I said 3 days to get feom one place to another and later 4 days to get somewhere else, it would actually calculate correctly. Now I was in the position of having to use not only pure math but in 3 dimensions to calculate the distances. The funny part of it was that I had no problem once there was a practical reference. What I later found out was that questions on a piece of paper had no practical reference so it was just numbers that meant absolutely nothing.
In a way, it was like trying to do very basic math with no knowledge of how to count. 1+1=2 anyone can remember but if they don't understand what 1 and 2 are, it makes no sense. You may just as well have said chair+house=garden.
Same goes with physics. You'll find that it will come naturally once you have a practical purpose but as a set of numbers or a circuit diagram in question form on paper only, it makes no sense at all.
Don't beat yourself up over it, there are logical minds and artistic minds and only a very few people in the world excel at both. It may be that your forte is not in logical thinking, you are more artistic and creative.

lol, i know, my spelling isnt the best. i actually failed because i accidently transformed a 4-vector momentum via the lorntz matrix, when instead it was actually asking for the proper time and velocity. *shrug*, i guess i need to bulk up reading skills :P

Welcome to science and/or engineering. It's not a question of if you will fail, it's a question of what you will fail. Accept this fact, and then you can properly celebrate your C-. -----------

how about 6. Find out exactly what you got wrong, why you got it wrong, and do better next time
You're just human, you can't really expect to get everything right. Heck, on a really bad day, you might get trivial stuff you think you know almost by heart wrong. It just happens. All in all, it's not about being #1, it's about being "good enough". Well, except if your definition of "good enough" is to be number one (which probably means you're a citizen of the USofA), in which case, you're screwed.

It's not a big deal to fail a single exam.
Just do better next time.

Dude,
ITS ONE FREAKING TEST
I screwed the pooch so badly in Grad school the only reason I graduated was because My Grad Econometerics professor gave me two weeks to learn a new statistical program a replicate a problem we did in class on SAS.
Just to raise a B- to a B so my GPA would be 3.03 instead of 2.9 something. There were two classes that the only reason I passed was because they don't give F's in Grad school.
Get the test. Study what went wrong. and move on.

Hmm... I'm a student of 3rd year of law now, 2 more years ahead of me. In highschool I passed everything with 5s and 6s in an up to 6 grading system... I got to collage... And now I perfectly know that FAILING something is not an 'option', it's a must, it's not possible to go threw collage and pass everything on 'A' or 5 or whatever you call the highest grade... Fail some, win some, then re-write the failed, move on. :D And enjoy the happiest days of your life - collage :D
PS - you can send me some isk / stuff any way :D ------------------------

i dropped out of university, was in the middle of doing my law degree then looked around at a shrinking job market and hyper competivity, and now earn more as a poker player/dealer.
