Now that the low security versions of gas clouds can spawn in high security systems, can the 0.0 gas clouds now also spawn in low security systems? |

I thought only more Ladar sites were added to low-sec, not moved to high-sec, but it could be me.

Edited by: Hya Bam on 16/03/2009 23:55:15 Yes, IIRC. Haven't found any 0.0 clouds in low sec, but have found plenty of low sec clouds in hi sec.
EDIT: Found this from the dev blog, "Getting High on Your Own Supply."
Quote: Currently, Cytoserocin clouds have only been found out in nullsec, where large clusters of them form. The renewed focus of the pirate factions in lowsec has also resulted in the discovery of smaller pockets of these same clouds. This allows small-scale production of normal boosters to be run purely from material drawn from low-security space. Not enough to build a drug empire maybe, but it sure could get a party started. The aim here is to allow people to see the entirety of the drug production process without their needing to venture into 0.0 space. Of course, any serious booster producer will have to make that step sooner or later. The good stuff is where the sharks swim.

Haven't found any in 0.5 or above yet, I'll have to see...

I have found and mined two LADAR sites in highsec so far, one was in a 1.0 system even. Though at the current price it's not really worthwhile. At 15k each unit you make some 7.5mil ISK/h, unless it goes up to 20-25k pu mining Veldspar is more profitable. -------- Ideas for: Mining

How much m3 are we looking at? The Gas Harvesters need turret points so Barges won't work.

One cloud I have scanned was 5000 m3. From what little I have seen sites can have 2-4 clouds in them. So you have to haul either with a second character or warp to a station for dropping off. As other people are likely to show up, you wouldn't want to use jetcans (too much).
Currently using an Exequror for gas mining. Good cargo size and 4 turrets. Once I can use T2 Harvesters, I'll probably upgrade to some BC. -------- Ideas for: Mining

Yeh I'm looking at Ferox myself or possibly an Armageddon with 8xExpanded Cargohold.

So there really are gas clouds in high sec?
Hurricane is great. That's what we use. But an Armageddon with at least 1 T1 cargo rig and all lows full of T2 cargo expanders can hold a whole gas mission cloud. So i would think that it would be helpful too.

Orca + Gas Harvester fit Moas with an assault launcher just in case rats show up = happy gas mining. Don't need haulers; so far haven't seen a site with more than 40km^3 gas in it.

I can also now confirm that the 0.0 gases do indeed spawn in low security systems. |
