Okay, I've heard that wormholes do not behave the same as normal jumpgates in that they are not subject to aggression timers for the purpose of jumping through them.
It could just be that it's nearing 1AM and I've had too much caffine that I'm thinking like this, but wouldn't feature this be horribly exploited?
Couldn't someone in highsec scan out a wormhole, then "suicide" gank someone, warp to the wormhole before CONCORD arrive and jump through thereby evading CONCORD? Normal gates won't let you through, but the mechanics of WH's might. On the same note, can people in lowsec with GCC's jump into wormhole space? In fact, what happens if someone with a GCC jumped through a wormhole in lowsec and came out in highsec? I'm just speculating, ignore me if I don't make sense.

I believe there is a system in place to stop people from jumping back and forth more than 3 times... It has a timer, but I forgot what the timer starts at...
I'm not 100% sure of this. ______________________________________

That's not what I meant. Someone in highsec scans out a WH, bookmarks the spot. Then warps to a gate, alpha's something, warps back to the WH before CONCORD show up, and then jumps through the WH. If this is possible it can get very messy in highsec very quickly.

Yeah... They are going to sit at the Wormhole, blow someone up as they arrive, and jump into the hole.
If that happens, good for the killer! If he tries to do it away from the wormhole? Concorded as normal. ______________________________________

I'm a bit fond of my 5.01 sec status, sorry I usually have crazy ideas when EVE meets lack of sleep and lots of caffine.

People keep saying that evading Concord is an exploit, but at the same time wormhole mechanics seem ripe for this type of action.

If someone can get me a wormhole location in highsec tomorrow I'd be willing to make a disposa-alt and test it. -shrug-

Just because you can do a thing does not mean it is not an exploit.
If you anger CONCORD and they come after you then you MUST die. If you avoid this in any fashion it is an exploit. Has been so for ages.

when black ops came out, they could cyno out from high sec into low sec. meaning they had an alt/corpie in lowsec with a cyno up, then the black ops pops someone in highsec, before they got concorded, they jumped out of system into lowsec. as far as i know, this is still possible. this is an exploit as stated because if you kill in highsec, you must die by concord. if you somehow evade them, ie blackops or wormholes, you can be petitioned, and will be punished accordingly by ccp. don't know if its banhammer or what, but they will punish you for exploiting.

Why you didn't test it? I did: - Aggroing in HighSec (0.5) in front of a WH --> could not jump: "Aggro message" - Aggroing in 0.0 in front of a WH (concord at the other side of the WH) --> direct jump out; no Condord interaction
Usage of theis feature: - "gate block" in WH space in front of a WH - if you loose, jump out ;-)
Be carefully: jumpout/jumpin/(Delay 3min)jumpout/...

Yes, so? Thats what makes Wormholes awesome. Why not just remove them if we are going to start applying no-agression rules to them?

Edited by: Tuttomenui II on 17/03/2009 10:50:51 I heard that successful atempts to escape concord are concidered exploits and thereby bannable.
I doubt you could alpha a person in hisec and kill them and warp before concord is there. Concord got a huge buff in Quantum Rise, they show up in smaller groups but they pwnzer tenfold. Plus the sec hit system got changed and depending on your security lvl and your targets you can go -5 fast for ganking someone in hisec.
I think the only way you would be able to even try to jump a wh with concord on your tail would be to aggress at the wh within jump range.

you can jump OUT of WH space while agressing someone else, and since they are 0.0 space, you get no GCC. You however CANNOT jump INTO WH space to avoid CONCORD. I have tested this many times to make sure.

Any idea what would happen if someone with a GCC in lowsec jumped through a WH into highsec? Would that cause a CONCORD response?

You get denied access to the WH, until AFTER concord pops your ship, then you can jump in with your pod. As far as a GCC in low-sec jumping thru a WH to high sec, dont know about that, I have never found a low-sec to hi-sec WH yet.

Why would you think you anything but getting popped by CONCORD would happen going from low sec to high sec with a GCC? It's the same thing as jumping through a stargate from low to high sec. You still have your GCC so you get popped by CONCORD. Pretty straightforward. ----------------------------------------------------

Maybe i am too tired but i don't think that is what op was asking about. The author of the linked thread went into lowsec agressed someone and came back before his gcc expired - subsequently getting served by concord.
OP asked if it was (theoretically) possible to agress someone in hisec and then jump back into lowsec/nullsec to evade concord.
To the OP: I suggest you try it on sisi. If it is possible it is most definitely an exploit. --
