didnt see either ideas in the "commonly proposed" so i reckon ill give it a go.
as it stands there isnt any terribly effective pos bashers in high sec, recently i pondered this and came up with two fairly viable options (i think so at least)
1. Battleship Siege module. basically says it all in the name. modified version of the standard siege mod giving similar bonuses to battleship class ships only. pretty easy to do overall i would think.
2. dedicated high sec "dread"... lets call them... Ironclads. this also would potentially answer the call for a tech2 tier 3 BS for each race, able to use the standard siege module and a reasonable weapon loadout.
either one would pretty sweet imo, give a new weapon for the high sec wardeccing pos bashers

one major ssue would be the effect this thing will have on lvl 4 chaining missin runners o.0

this sounds like a good idea, but let it only be for the tier 3 battleships. the description of the rokh even tells that it is a fleet support vessel. yes i know that it has the range bonuse but other than that people stay away from it as it has very little in by ways of damage or support abilities. also so to keep it on par with other siege mods it would have to take up a high slot, it it could be substituted for a low slot since all 4 of the tier 3 ships have at least 5 lows.

Edited by: David Grogan on 17/03/2009 21:40:51 why not make dread allowed to shoot on war dec'd targets in 0.5 / 0.6 sec only.... if they attack any other ships thats not war dec's by the owner's corp they get ultra concorded and in a flash no delay til concord begin to arrive SIG: if my message has spelling errors its cos i fail at typing properly :P |

yeah... itd be the high slot mod that increases damage dramatically as well as tanking ability, but reduces max velocity to nill and tracking to nearly nothing (the explosion velocity for missiles)
not many changes would be required to have to to work with say... tier 3 BS (add a third role bonus that allows the fitting of a Siege module perhaps?)
as for it changing lvl4s... it would suck pretty hardcore for missioning imo. although the missions where you have to take down a station it would be pretty sweet. but for your average mission it wouldnt be too great as you would be locked in 1 place for 10 minutes

beint would only fit on a tier 3 ship as fleet support you really would not need to move on lvl4 missions in a fleet anyway. and yes a special role bonuse would be neede just like the battlecruisers, but how would the bonus apply, do you want just a full 99.9% reduction or would it work more like the cov ops cloak decrease and go from 98-100% by lvl?

The war dec system is already being abused.
If you were to first make it so war declarations couldn't be tossed at anyone for no reason what so ever - ie: player run regional government; all war declarations would require an approval from elected officials and only apply to that given region. If there were legit wars, yeah we should have this, but war declarations are mainly pvp corps trying to get cheap easy kills.
I give this thumbs down because of the current game mechanics.
