I know it is but after being screwed myself by various parties dumping it in various format over the time, I decided that I would stick to lowercase all the time and if someone gives non-lowercase, I would change them in lowercase no matter how important it would be for anyone else.
At some point, you gotta chose

I've seen errors like that when the SQL server user account doesn't have rights to the backup file. Try putting the file in the SQL Backups folder and restoring from there. The folder is normally something like C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\Backup .

Not to be a pain or anything, but any chance you could split that xml file into a directory with one table per file? Someone did that with the QR dump, and it was handy since I only need 10 tables or so, and that file is HUGE  I can't even convince my computer to load it as an XML Document, I don't have enough RAM.

So where does this data originate from? As far as I can tell, there hasn't been an official export.
Is it extracted from the client package? If so, how does one go about doing that?

It's an official data dump from CCP (first post source). No devs confirmed it was the latest (after hotfixes, etc).

If you could make an alternate one with all the files as .csv that be helpful.

Well, there are a few new mods, a few that changed name and the patch (coming tomorrow) is mentioning new icons (although not new, simply replacing misrendered).
Now this patch is also making the latest SQL dump (almost) useless as they changed values also. 
BTW, T3 ships should have icons as you still have an image when checking the info. (Even if it doesn't necessarily reflects the right subsystem combination).

Anyone know where I might find the certificate relationships for skills?
crtrelationships has certificate->certificate relationships listed, but no data for skills. You'll notice that the only data for parentTypeID is 0 and NULL. Regardless of this difference, they all seem to be related to other certificates.
I guess we should be expecting parentTypeID to show a 1 for skills, and for parentLevel to actually be something other than 1 or NULL. It's just not there in the current export (either that or the mysql conversion is messed up). Anyone got any ideas? I'd rather not have to go through every certificate manually in-game and add them to my tables :P
Also maybe worthy of note: the relationshipID field starts with id 1441. What happened to the other 1440?

I have a simple Ruby script which converts the MySQL dumps to sqlite (simple to modify for Postgres too). Send a note in-game if you want it. |

I used the mysql dump v1.1 mentioned above. I noticed some few very odd things:
- evegraphics is empty
- invtypes only has 8500 or so entries.(in qr there where 16k. and don't say they are cleaning up. 'Redeemer' is missing)
with the first issue i can live with, while the second is neck breaking.
I just want to mention that after trinity there wasn't a single dump which i thought to be usable on sight. after trinity the images got kind of unsharp or odd.
so to be able to use this db dump, you would need at least the dump of qr and images from trinity. Don't get my wrong: I am grateful for the dumps, but they don't have the quality, i would like them to have.
PS: who does this dump anyway? I mean I as hobby programmer am able to shuffle the data through my DB back and forth, but CCP with their payed programmer and big server farm are not able to do that.

I see that in todays patch deployment they changed the market groups for hull upgrades. Will the DB dump be reissued as to reflect the new changes?

I have converted this to MySQL without extended inserts so it can be used with scripts like Bigdump.
It is common that people are using webhosts that have a timeout limit. The only way to overcome this is to insert the database in sections, thus avoiding the timeout at each stage. Sadly the dumps that are going around these days use the extended inserts, which will often timeout.

If anyone has the issue of using a virtual host (ie, you don't have proper access to the machine) and are suffering from timeouts when trying to set up the database, use the BigDump script above and the database I have linked. This will then work fine

I noticed too since I came from work, might have to redo these 2. Eve-files tracker doesn't seem to like them anymore. (They were ok when I was at work).
