I had to hear it from a friend who heard it from a friend that the mega corporation Ishukone space station had been attacked. I traveled as fast as I could to Malkalen and in my shuddered disbelief another of Ishukone's stations sat in ruins. I quickly uploaded the scene so I could spread the news. Where is Tibus Heth, where is concord. I did my best to gather what information I could.
One Commander Kinwolf was their to witness part of the mess. He said - there were lots of little explosions but i got there after it blew up totally I asked > and you saw a convoy leaving from there, how many ships? Commander Kinwolf > 5-6 > that is weird and you didn't see anything that could have caused it. Commander Kinwolf > no there was some concord activity for a hile though
It is unsure at this time what happened and if concord was truely there as the Commander is fairly new to being a capsule pilot and confused the convoy for concord at one point.
I do not know what happened but it seems that Ishukone has been attacked again. *

Pilot Esiel, that damage has existed for months now. There has been no new attack since that one Nyx-class mothership was rammed into the station. |

Edited by: Esiel on 18/03/2009 04:16:04 Ah it is the same damage from the orginal attack! Why is it still burning? I am greatly confused. Tibus Heth where are you, this is unacceptable to leave a station burning and in ruins. *

A little slow on the uptake today, Pilot? I suggest Nerve Sticks. Infact I can put you in touch with a very good supplier if you are interested...

The station's still operating on limited functionality, actually, but the rebuilding efforts can't finish - or indeed even properly begin - until all of the fires go out and all of the heat has radiated away. And certain structural components and chemical reservoirs in a station of that type can burn in vacuum for a long time. It's going to be a long time before the fires settle down and the metal has cooled to the point where reconstruction can begin.
That's assuming that they don't just boost the station into a different orbit and build a brand new one instead, of course.
Besides, what the hell is Heth going to do? Walk up to the station, wave his magical happy stick and repair it? Give it a kiss on the bump? Make the boo-boo go away with candy? - Verin "Stitcher" Hakatain. |

For a caldari you have pretty mixed informations about your state system. Mr. Heth is not CEO of Ishukone corporation. I would advise to read more in your nation glorious history records.

*Willam chuckles, diplays a broad grin and answers with an obvious tease to his facial expression and tone of voice:*
You greatly underestimate his powers.
*Then his face turns more serious.* It is however worrying that Ishukone is still without CEO well after the reports that they were close to a decision.

Agreed, the Ishukone Board of Directors has allowed their corporation to be leaderless for almost a year. They need to act now; not only for the good of Ishukone, but the good of the State.
Hakatain-haan, I and my corporation support any effort on your part to expedite the Ishukone Board of Director's decision and bring this to a close. |

My capacity to influence the board is, sadly, very limited. And I'm not currently in possession of the funds necessary to secure a more influential position among the Ishukone shareholders.

The reason they have not burned themselves out is the same as the reason they have not been put out is the same as the reason nobody's trying to put that side of the station back together. At a guess.

Edited by: Stitcher on 18/03/2009 21:16:49 stations have extensive reserves of all sorts of flammable substances, pilot. Hell, even metals can burn in the right circumstances, and not all of them require oxygen either. I wouldn't be surprised if those fires keep burning for a while yet.
I did some research. Putting out fires like that is nigh-on impossible, you just have to wait for them to burn out. And of course, nobody can get in there to begin reconstruction until it's stopped being red-hot and on fire. - Verin "Stitcher" Hakatain. |

And that's assuming none of them is a lump of exposed antimatter playing "miniature sun" in the interstellar medium. If they have such a thing on hand, it might be safest to just leave it in its mostly-shielded magnetic suspension and let passing particles erode it until there's nothing there. They haven't said anything about this, of course, but if I had a problem like that on my space station, I wouldn't tell anyone, either.

It's not uncommon for 'eternal flame' to burn at a memorial. Perhaps Ishukone lets the source of the fires continue because they have decided to keep it as a reminder of what happened, or possibly as a memorial to their murdered CEO.
