Have you seen this infamous Sleeper?
What amount of damage does it do?
How well is it tanked?
How well did you fair against it?
What did you take up against it?
Do you have a screenshot?
what site did it spawn in?

Edited by: Ace Secunda on 18/03/2009 11:28:09 From a thread created by King Rothgar in this forum,
Quote: The next day we went after a magnometric site and thanks to the lessons we had already learned, completed it fairly easily. Or so we thought. As we analyzed the cans, a giant fleet of sleepers spawned, one volleying the hurricane that was with us (he was stationary and not paying attention). We immediately avenged our fallen comrade by wiping out the spawn. But this only spawned something even nastier, speculation is that it was a sleeper dread. It MWD'd to us unleashing an unholy amount of damage. But we were able to avoid most of the missile damage by moving along at a lazy 80 m/s. He didn't have much of a tank either and died rather swiftly once we all got our drones and guns on him. Sadly we neglected to leave a pod there while we took a few minutes off to eat and so all the cans despawned, preventing us from getting the most valuable loot there.

I really don't know what it was, it looked different from all the other sleeper BS's. We were too far to really judge size. It happened pretty fast and we were a little busy trying not to explode to look at the ship model much. The ship spawned alone after all other spawns were killed.

Lets make this interesting, the best picture of this mystical 'Sleeper Dreadnaught' linked on this thread will get a 50,000,000 isk reward. The picture will be judged by a number of my own corpmates (not including redclaws) for its authenticity, the catch is that you have to fly right up to it and get both yourself and this Sleeper in the same screenshot with you under 5000m. Happy Hunting!
The competition will close on Friday (20th) @ 21:00 EvE Time.

i guess it was a try to quote this

You all know me. You know how I earn a livin'.
I'll catch this bird for ya, but it ain't gonna be easy. Bad fish! Not like goin' down to the pond chasing bluegills or tommycats. This shark will swallow you whole. Shakin'. Tenderizin'. Down you go.
Now we got to do it quick. That'll bring back the tourists and it'll put all your businesses on a payin' basis. But it's not gonna be pleasant.
I value my neck a lot more than 50 million isk, Chief. I'll find him for 50, but I'll catch him and kill him for a hundred.
You've got to make up your minds. Gonna stay alive and ante up? Or want to play it cheap, be on welfare the whole winter.
I don't want no volunteers. I don't want no mates. There's too many captains in this galaxy. A hundred million isk for me by myself. For that, you get the head, the tail, the whole damn thing.

This thread has taken an interesting turn, especially since no one to my knowledge has actually said they saw a sleeper dread . The ship my gang encountered was dread-esk in that it couldn't hit **** if it was going more than 5 m/s but anything going slower was ****ed. We're going out for another run in a day or two, aiming for same difficulty level system so with a little luck we'll see our mystery ship again and get a screenshot.

There is no ship by the name of "Sleeper Dreadnought" or any NPC with the name "Dreadnought" in it for that matter. The only items in the game with that word in them are the racial dread skills, and wrecks of ships.
You may have found a big, rare Sleeper ship, but it's not called a Dreadnought. ---- FREE Explorer Lead Megalomanic EVE Null-Sec Player Influence Map http://dl1.eve-files.com/media/corp/Veritefw/FWinf |

The DB no longer lists the detailed stats for the rats, but it does have their names for cross-referencing in killmails. All the Sleeper rats are in the DB, and there are no Dreadnought rats in there. ---- FREE Explorer Lead Megalomanic EVE Null-Sec Player Influence Map http://dl1.eve-files.com/media/corp/Veritefw/FWinf |

Edited by: Ace Secunda on 19/03/2009 10:45:39 Please, If your not going to try and get involved in this activity do not post your stupid 'there is no such thing' and 'its not on the database' rubbish in here. This is something I have done to try and give some people something extra to aim for when exploring, comedy links and movie quotes are fine (and in the case of the sleeper and support picture, helarious) but nay saying crap that has no aim apart from trying to take the fun out of the whole thing for people, leave it out! It might not be a dreadnaught, it might be a special type of sleeper BS, that is the point, we want a picture of it to show people who havn't seen it what to look for!
Although at the end of the day the more rubbish in here and lack of good pictures means Im going to still have that 50 mil in my wallet tomorrow

Quote: Confirming that it was an advanced BS, we where able to confirm this while scouting the plexes in the deadly class 6 WH where these battleships also occasionally spawn. Although it is an advanced BS version it definetly has comparable damage/tracking/signature issues like a dread. You don't want to be stationary when this thing opens fire on you...
Just as a side-note we did in the end get our stranded companion out of the WH space and are now all back home. - Nisstyree, from another thread.
So it might not be a dread but the 50 mil still stands for a good picture of this beast.

The link has to be in this thread dude, plus from my experience thats the same ship type as the standard sleeper BS's but I will confirm this with others, Reports I have heard is that the one we are looking for is a different type of ship.

No, we have scouted the plexes in the deadly class 6 WH and the ship is the same. The ship we took a screenshot of is by no means the regular sleeper BS you find in the plexes. In fact it has only been spotted in the class 5 and class 6 WH's.

Did it occur to you that sleepers have repetitive textures but different names distinguishing their difficulty?
We're talking about the hardest hitting ones only to be occasionally found in class 5 WH's and frequently in class 6. Just so there's no confusion these are the BS's we're talking about:
[ 2009.03.14 16:26:29 ] (combat) <color=0xffbb6600>Sleepless Keeper hits you for 2445 damage (And these are just the normal BS's in the class 5 WH's not the elite one.)
There in no dreadnaught-sized sleeper ship but what we surely met is a sleeper elite BS (linked in the screenshot) that hits as hard as a dread and also (thank god) has the same issues like a dread.
Cheers

Ouch! ok i haven't fought any BS that hit that hard, highest i've been hit for is 920, but the ship model is the same,
