1. Use the market quickbar to save ship loadouts in folders so you can buy loadouts or get prices easily and faster.

The white zone in the Rancer system is for unloading of goods only.
There is no zone for the loading of goods.
If you have questions, please direct them to the nearest Unloading Technician. |

Tip 2. Don't go into Rancer via the Crielere gate :) Use the gate via Hek, Crielere is camped most often.

Tip 3. Bookmark bookmark bookmark
I use folders for the Star, Complexes, Stations (one for my camped systems so I can quickly warp and dock to my favorite station) and Wormholes when I enter them so I can get out again (first thing you should do after entering a wormhole). Pitty we cant align to bookmarked places though.

Dual boxing tip.
You can force FoF missiles to fire on rats even if they are not targeting you. Once your m8 (or alt) gets aggro, assign your drones to guard him. Once the drones start to attack anything, engage FoF missiles and recall your drones. The missile ship (I use a Drake) will continue firing until there are no more targets in range. You now have an unmanned anti flack missile spewing alt that can not be shot down or lost due to disconnect (unlike your drones).
Works well with a Drake using Assault launchers, especially on missions like Buzzkill.

If I could offer you one piece of advice for the future, right-clicking would be it.
The short-term benefits of right-clicking have been proven by usability analysts whereas the rest of my advice has no basis more reliable than my own meandering experience.
I will dispense this advice now.
Enjoy the novelty and freedom of your youth. Never mind. You will not understand the novelty and freedom of your youth until they have faded. But trust me, in 4 years you'll look back at fraps of yourself and recall in a way you can't grasp now how big EVE seemed, and how you never noticed the bad parts.
You are NOT as useless in PvP as you imagine.
Don't worry about losing ships; or worry, but know that worrying is as effective as trying to find a wormhole with the directional scanner. The real losses in your career are apt to be things that never crossed your worried mind; the kind that blindside you in highsec on some idle trade run.
Do one thing every day that scares you.
Insure.
Don't be reckless with other people's trust, podkill people who are reckless with yours.
Update your clone.
Don't waste your time on jealousy; sometimes you're ahead, sometimes you're behind. The race is long, and in the end, it's only with yourself.
Remember /sign's you receive, forget the flames; if you succeed in doing this, tell me how.
Keep your old killmails, throw away your old credit card bills.
Train support skills.
Don't feel guilty if you don't know what you want to do in EVE. The most interesting people I know didn't know at a year in what they wanted to do in the game, some of the most interesting 5 year olds I know still don't.
Read the documentation.
Maybe you'll join a corp, maybe you won't, maybe you'll run one, maybe you won't, maybe you'll go solo, maybe you'll have the responsibility of an alliance thrust upon you. Whatever you do, don't congratulate yourself too much or berate yourself, either. Your choices are half chance, so are everybody else's. Enjoy the game, play it every way you can. Don't be afraid of it, or what other people think of it, it's the greatest game you'll ever play.
Use comms. Even if you can only listen.
Read the forums, even if you don't post on them.
Do NOT read General Discussion, they will only make you feel stupid.
Be nice to your corpmates; they are your best link to your past and the people most likely to stick with you in the future.
Understand that friends come and go, but for the precious few you should hold on. Work hard to bridge the gaps in region and playstyle because the older you get, the more you need the people you knew when you were young.
Live in 0.0 once, but leave before it makes you hard; live in highsec once, but leave before it makes you soft.
Explore.
Accept certain inalienable truths, ISK will inflate, politicians will metagame, you too will become a vet, and when you do you'll fantasize that when you were new ISK had some worth, politicians were noble and noobs were eager to learn.
Respect vets.
Don't expect anyone else to support you. Maybe you have a alliance ship replacement program, maybe you'll have a generous corpmate; but you never know when either one might run out.
Be careful whose advice you buy, but, be patient with those who supply it. Advice is a form of nostalgia, dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.
But trust me on the right-clicking. -

Im not saying shes wrong but Miilla is about the last person I would ever trust in EVE.
Shes a notorious pest and scammer in the Lustrivik system.
If you think corp is different than a guild or clan you have some insecurity issues.

Widely known by veteran players, but not known by newer players
The map has a function which allows you to highlight systems by various statistics. Of particular interest is highlighting systems by the number of ships/pods destroyed, the number of players currently active in system, the number of jumps in the system, and a few other useful numbers. The higher the number, the larger the highlighted system will be. This will allow you to see potential gate camps, and allow you to travel (relatively) safely through low and null sec.
Low sec/null sec systems with recent ship destructions are likely to have a gate camp or other hostile presence. Active pilots in enemy/neutral null sec space can also be considered relatively dangerous. By using the map properly, you can almost guarantee that you will never die without intending to.

Obvious when you know, but a lot of people seem to have "zOmGwTf why isn't this in the manual?" moments when they find out.

Use the market filter function to customize market selection, or use it as a safety net (no lowsec/no prices above a certain value etc.)
A dedicated escape tab displaying only stations/planets/gates (NOT moons) can come in handy at times.

ctrl-space stops the ship. This has all kinds of useful applications. 1. Pre-align to bookmark. click warp-to. ctrl-space. Then increase speed. You're now aligned. 2. You click warp/dock at station, then realize you don't really want to dock. ctrl-space during warp and you will stop outside the station. Sometimes the time saved is worth it. 3. Your FC cries warp to XX. Then after you click warp-to he says. NO NO, there is an ambush at XX, warp to YY instead. Ctrl-space can save your ship.
When running from inties. Don't warp to zero or 100. --
