This video wasn't produced as competition to my peers, it was previously produced to be private for my alliance, but given its popularity there I'm posting to YouTube and opening the link. Hopefully a few people will find this as useful as the others~
YouTube Link: Ship Probing Tutorial with narration and quicker-techniques
A second video (First is linked to in another thread in this forum section) showing ship scanning using quicker shift-drag techniques to reduce time and fiddling.
I've added a running narration instead of closed captions to mine which might prove a quicker-paced introduction than a captioned tutorial~
Learning these techniques and others which you'll pick up you can get ship scanning down to about two minutes.
The best lessons to impart are:
* Scan at x16, x4 and x1 sizes to get the hits. Skip x32 and all the others - you can narrow it down in just three jumps and maybe five scans.
* Hold Shift and left click-hold to drag all the currently active probes around at once. This works either clicking the arrows or by dragging the probes around via the top face of the cube.
* Hold shift and left click-hold to drag down the radius of the scanprobe - this lets you narrow down what you're trying to do! It's an essential because using the menu sloooows you down. (Didn't do it in the first video, frame rate in the capture video wasn't quite high enough).

I'd like to say how thankful I am about learning something about Scanning.
I've never been interested in scanning down ships or whatever as I thoguht it was boring and stuff but that video is so well made it feels really easy to get a ship anywhere in space, and I think my alt is gonna train that way some day ^^
Thanks for the lesson and kudos for giving away such a tip :)
(Even though I'm pretty sure it's a fairly well-known one but as I'm a total noob scannerboy for me it's a huge tip ^^ )

No worries, I know the new mechanic can be a bit complicated and daunting if you didn't get to play with it on the test-server. It's really good for scanning down ships - and plex'rs in zerozero - as you can get the warpables on them in next to no time.

Yeah, no offense at all man, I'm a fellow cloaker as well, it just sounded so damn funny the first thing i heard was that. Taken into account what some people think about cloakers

Not that it's difficult to see anything in the movie but maybe it'd look better though ( just my personal taste though I like good-looking videos. I'm not taking about editing there, just about the quality rendering ^^ )

Not actually sure how to upload one to YouTube in HighQuality if I must be honest - the video itself isn't really in much higher quality than it displays. I think with the commentary it ought to be clear enough, I mean, I can read all the text fine when the video is fullscreened.
Is there any part you thought I went too fast on and wish me to explain for you?

Nah the tutorial was absolutely crystal clear, not sure though about one point, you're using Expanded Probe Launcher, charged with Combat Scanner Probes right ?
And basicly, you launch a probe at each gate ? or just enough probes to cover the entire system's area ?
Wel dunno if it matters really as I saw you could just launch the probes about anywhere in space and make them warp were you want or something ?
Last point, is there any Science skill worth training to level 5 except Astrometrics ? ( eg Pinpointing, Acquisition and Rangefinding )

If you check out my youtube account you'll another, slightly older video that deals with the basic scanning stuff, launching probes from safespots, ships and skills etc.
It's also got a thread here in this section, but I havn't been willing to bump it as this is a better video for people who've already got an idea about scanning.
Basically, its best to launch probes either from a safespot or from a planet or something and get safed/cloaked as quickly as you can after. Warp them around in a grid pattern.
It's not needed to launch/deploy them from more than one location, just drop all four at once - preferably while moving so they don't stop you recloaking or pinpoint you if you're not safed.
As for skills, I've got none of the big ones to level5, isn't needed. 4 is good enough and gets you hits in three scan brackets.
16/4/1 or 32/4/1.

I'm not sure how many bumps are permitted on this forum so without new content, I'm not exactly going to push it.
I don't think this is exactly stickyable material - not in a video section, rather than a help section - although saying that, a number of alliances (My own for one) have got this stickied on their personal forums. Even if it means getting hunted by Reds I hope my Tutorial vids get put to good use~
