Greetings.
I just spent I dunno something like 15 days to train Connections from 4 to 5.
Which raised my standing with Amarr from six dot five something (I think 6.59, not entirely sure, but in any case 6.5x) to ... wait for it ... 6.59!
Is the last level of Connections really this utterly useless?

How these skills work.
The higher your standings, the less effect you'll see from the skills. It most definitely has an effect though.

Thanks. And great skill guide you have there, much appreciated.
But: If I read this correctly, connections 4 to 5 should get me +4% standing. So that would be:
10 - old standing (say 6.59) = 3.41
3.41 / 100 * 4 = 0,1364.
Which means I should have seen more of an effect, should at least be 6.6something now

Proper way to compute for, say, 6.00 base standings :
6.16 with Connections 1
6.32 with Connections 2
6.48 with Connections 4
6.64 with Connections 4
6.80 with Connections 5
How high IS your base standing anyway ?
Judging from your currently reported effective standing (6.59), it must be around 5.74 (give or take 0.005).
This means with Connections 4 you had 6.42 effective or thereabouts.
You are simply remembering it wrong. It went from 6.42 to 6.59

Base standing is 5.73. Maybe you're right and I do remember it wrong after all. I still won't recommend to anyone spending the time in Connections V. I could have another BS skill half way to V in that time 
Thanks to all who replied.
Edit: Back to the storyline treadmill as I need 6.90 for the agent I want. And I keep getting stupid cargo storylines that give +0.02 faction standing, hence all my hope was on Connections
