Edited by: Iria Ahrens on 22/03/2009 06:02:42 Hey,
Today I got popped and something unusual happened that I can't explain.
The basic situation. I jumped through a gate and found a gate camp at the other side. Tried to warp to something close to my orientation but I got pointed right at 69% so not good enough. So I tried to turn back to the gate and that's where the problem came in.
After my module turned itself off, I figured I must have been scrambled, so I prayed to slow boat it. But for some reason my ship didn't just stop microwarping; it stopped completely. Ships speed read zero, which even if I were webbed by everyone in that gang shouldn't be the case right?
So why would my ship stop if I were frantically hitting approach gate? Did I experience a bug, or was it something else? For example, could someone have bumped me and I just didn't notice because my heart was a little too racy? --

If you got bumped your ship would have most likely turned away from the gate. I assume you would have noticed that. Could have been lag I suppose, how big was the camp?

Edited by: Iria Ahrens on 22/03/2009 08:09:14 It was about 10 ships. I can check my killmail for an exact amount, but my interface was responding so I don't think it was graphic lag. The camp wasn't that big. I could have overlooked myself being bumped, my heart was racing rather fast.
Mainly, I've been wracking my brain trying to figure out if it is something that I should petition. Or maybe it was something normal that I would have noticed if I weren't panicking.
Since you said my ship would have been turned away from the gate, that must be it then. I kept noticing my nose pointing the wrong way so I kept clicking the approach buttton and didn't see anything change.
Meh, I hate losing a ship on its maiden voyage. If I had already earned a killmail with that ship, I would have been a lot calmer. --
