Hey man, if you haven't bought one yet - i have a laptop that does run eve all the time, about the same price you are looking for...warranty is about to expire at the end of September tho.
(Alienware 51-m 3.0 ghz p4, 1gig of ram, 40gb HD, Gforce 5600go, 128mb - easy swappable(is that a word?) video card slot.)

Yep the Alienware has a User upgradable graphics card thing.
Expensive but I love them

Ever since I started using Alienware computers I have had no trouble with reliability. Compared to my older computer (Dell brand) Alienware seems to be tons more reliable.
Most of Alienwares computers come with a high bared standard with everything you should expect a computer of thier price to be.
Personally the Desktop Ive had from them for 2.5 years still hasnt failed me and continues to run smoothly.

Mysterious, just about everybody has a valid answer except that "Balthamael Guy", he dosn't actually play just stays in channel AFK, or cruises the forum.
Stop griping about server instability and go buy an EVE mug!
Additionally with the purchase of each mug you will receive two(2) invisible Elves.
