My second computer is an AMD Athlon XP 3200+ with 1 gb ram.
The vid card was an ati radeon GL 8800 that I used to run the old Eve client. Now it says no shader2.
Does anyone know of an AGP card I can put in it to run the new Eve client?
Thanks.

My flatmate uses the AGP version of the Geforce 7800 with his Athlon 3200+. Runs EVE at 1920x1200 at maximum details (With bloom and HDR) very well indeed.
It's a good few years old now so you should be able to pick one up on the cheap. On the other hand, prices might have skyrocketed due to the difficulty of obtaining old AGP cards.
Luck of the draw mate.

For nvidia? anything past the Geforce fx 5200. You can probably find a 7000 series for cheap.
I do not know ATI cards, because I've only recently gone back to ATI.

That's a very rough low to high of the cards you should be looking for. As an aside, get 2GB of DDR 400 RAM too. If you can find the 3850, get it - it'll blitz through everything up to high quality up to around late 2007 games, as long as your processor is up to it.

If you want an nvidia, the 8800 GT is probably still the all around best power for your money.

I didn't realize they had made AGP cards for even that long.
My motherboard is an ASROCK K7S41GX - http://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.asp?Model=K7S41GX
The AGP slot is 8x/4x 1.5V. There are no bios settings to change voltage, it is fixed at 1.5 with a big disclaimer in the manual to only use that voltage card. I've never upgraded the vid card before.
Are all the newer cards 1.5V these days, is this not an issue or should I be researching individual card voltages.
Thanks for the help.

After all the other spec checkin',.. that's the last one to check before you hit the buy button.
