If pirating software and violating licences makes your life better, i pity you.
If using XP instead of OsX makes your life better, then go ahead and use XP. Your sanity may be questionable, but that's your own choice. I myself use Os X, BSD and Linux. But then I'm a smoker, so my sanity is also questionable.

I never said anything about pirating software. If that is what you read into thats your problem.
I mentioned demonoid, because CCP EVE advertises there, and that is how I originally heard about EVE.
Now, gfy! ;)

Dude.. calm down. I also read it as you getting XP from demonoid.
As for Ami Nia, she has more intelligent post than most people on the Mac forums..

Doesnt matter what you think, your thoughts are off topic.

yes my mother did.. but it looks like yours told you to b'tch all you want.
As for the "Solution" it has be discussed at length in other post, if you took the time to read past post you would have seen that. Also most people will not want to install Windows, due to the other issues with that OS.

A few minor problems, else I'm seriously surprised at the quality of the premium client.

You wrote: Went to demonoid, got Windows XP. You really think it's very clear you just mentioned demonoid because you only go there for legal downloads and it came to your mind because you have seen EvE advertising there, but you actually got your XP from a retailer?
By the way, from your reaction it seems you are the one who have a problem. Your response reminded me of Parallux.

Yeah, that's exactly how I read it as well.
"1 Went to demonoid 2 got Windows XP"
Then loads of back pedaling to say he didn't download XP. Excuse my skepticism.
Anyway, to address the topic. No, I've got a Mac Pro and a Macbook Pro and the last thing I want to do is to bootcamp into Windows to play Eve. If I wanted to play Eve under Windows then I'd have bought a PC, not a Mac.
All my applications are OS X apps, rebooting to Windows would mean I couldn't use my computer for anything other than Eve but I do many other things while I'm playing.
So no thanks, it's not for me. --

You are SUCH a troll?
Do you ever play eve? or do you just spend ALL your time trolling around the forums?
I dont particularly give a flying **** what you think about pirating, or whether or not it is relevant here.
The topic which you cant seem to get a grasp you worth less troll is Fixing problems related to the Mac client.
now please...do everyone a favor and stfu, stop hijacking valid threads for your pathetic ego.

@Ami Nia That link rocked!!!!
@RAGINGMANIAC Do you even know what a troll is? From the Urban dictionary
troll One who purposely and deliberately (that purpose usually being self-amusement) starts an argument in a manner which attacks others on a forum without in any way listening to the arguments proposed by his or her peers. He will spark of such an argument via the use of ad hominem attacks (i.e. 'you're nothing but a fanboy' is a popular phrase) with no substance or relevence to back them up as well as straw man arguments, which he uses to simply avoid addressing the essence of the issue.
mmm sounds more like you not Ami Nia ...

Suggesting people run Windows instead of OS X is hardly a valid fix for the Mac client, is it? --

I, of course, agree with the idea of using Os X and the fact that rebooting will cripple you because all your stuff and apps are on the other partition etc.
But I do not agree with the "If I wanted to play Eve under Windows then I'd have bought a PC". If you do a complete analysis of either engineering, quality, elegance, TCO or whatever, it turns out that in 95% of the cases the best PC to buy is one made by Apple. Even if you need/want to run Windows or linux on it. There are a few exceptions. But mostly I find that they still are better than most other brands.

LOL. Ask around. No, you do not need to. Just read the other replies to this thread. Or even just the OP.
Who between us is helping to fix problems related to the Mac client? You?

Edited by: RAGINGMANIAC on 23/03/2009 22:20:41 Wow. DOUBLE TROLL hijack post even. You are out doing even your self Ami.
QUICK REBOOTS OS SWITCHING: Forgive me as I divert to be back on topic, but for quick reboots between osx and windows, you can hold down the option key while starting up.
GRAPHICS: when you run windows you will notice a HUGE leap in graphics quality on your macbook. Besides everything feeling and running smoother, the graphics will oook awesome.
ADDITIONAL ADVANTAGES:
By running windows you can also run EveMon(itor) a program which monitors and aids in skil progression and EFT (Eve Fitting Tool) to help design new ship loadouts.
As for Demonoid: I love it! So does CCP that is why they advertise there. If you havnt checked out demonoid.com please do. I however would never support the sharing unlicensed software.

You are an idiot.
Go learn what a troll is, please. Do us all a favor. I bought a mac because I want to use a OS X, not XP. There is in fact a reason I switched. And all my other stuff is on OS X, so switching to XP for eve means I can -only- play eve. I do other stuff while I play, as do lots of people.

Lets get one thing straight. The OP wasnt about you liking me, or how listen to country on your ipod or how you **** your wife for that matter, this post is about
ONE THING
Getting Eve to work WELL on your Mac.
If you dont like me, I will go cry later. If you cant figure out your ipod im sorry, about your wife, thats your problem.
But IF you want to get EVE to run better than it has EVER run before on your mac. Follow the instructions.
Now I have never been a windows use either. In fact this is the first time I have EVER installed it. But I got to say...it runs GREAAAT. I am very impressed with how well Eve runs.

My point is that this does not fix EVE on the mac. I want EVE to work on my Mac, in OSX, not in Windows.
