Noob player here ... Can someone explain the difference between Researching for BPO's and Inventing. I see all these Research agents around and all the research skills. BUt I don't see to much info about the Inventing side of this. Or, am I way behind in the whole thing and out to lunch

Research improves a blueprint's material and productivity level while inventing produces copies of T2 or T3 blueprint in which the BPO does not exist on the market.

So T2 and T3 BPO's can not be created from R & D Agents any longer. But instead there is an Invention process ??? Help !!! I read some stuff on line about having to have good standing with R & D agents then starting research projects with them. Then after a period of time they contact you with results of the research which can be T2 BPO's. fomr what you have said so far this is no longer in effect ?

that used to be the case until ccp changed the system and stoped the T2 lottery system to make players focus more on the invention side.
now all the R+D agents do it gain what is called RP(research points) which are then used to buy things called "Datacores". datacores are used in the invention process and can only be got from R+D agents or from other players using market system.
RP's are like skill points system in that they acrew over real-time, each real day gains you a set ammount of RP's, skill's and the lvl of the agent also affect the RP daily ammounts. -------------------------------- this post was funded by Quafe now available in minmatar red. -------------------------------- |

If you open up a BPO or BPC, look through the tabs until you find the invention tab. Clicking on that will list three main skills (along with their prerequisites) and a set of items you will need for invention. Invention is chance based affected by the level of those three skills, for example, if you have all three skills at level 5 then your chances for invention are roughly 40%. The items used will be two types of datacores (all consumed/destroyed in the process) and an interface that will not be consumed and is reusable on multiple jobs at the same time.
