Ouroborus777	Posted - 2009.03.23 23:29:00 - [1] So there's six solar system effects you can find in Unknown: Pulsar, Black Hole, Cataclysmic Variable, Magnetar, Red Giant, and Wolf Rayet. Here's one I got so far: http://ouroborus.org/eve/screenshots/2009.03.23.13.11.26.png Anybody know what this one is? I'm pretty sure my shields got a boost, but is doesn't seem to look like a pulsar, the type that would have that effect. Also, anybody got screenshots of the various effects?

Yeah, it's an effect that you will sometimes find in wormholes. Each one affects your ship differently, according to this chart. The only way to know is to either know exactly what your ships stats are, or take a look at the background "effect" and compare it to the screenshot and table.

I don't think that's a red giant. I don't have a screenshot, but I've seen a system where there was an enormous star in the skybox, which I think was the red giant. The one you posted, I think, is a Wolf-Rayet star, which is an enormous star that loses mass absurdly quickly (about a billion times faster than our sun loses mass). I think these new objects in the skyboxes are awesome. Adds a bit more atmosphere and colour (figuratively) to the EVE universe.

Fairly useful because I had a speed tank set-up at the time. Was a dark red wormhole type thing. ____________________
