maybe the epic arc is valuable because it'll lead to more epic arcs that give half decent rewards?

I say this having not run an epic mission arc yet, but is there a lot of story built into what the agent gives you? Or did you just skip over that hoping for an epic reward?
Also, it's Level 1. What are you really expecting?

Yeah, the story is pretty good. But i often found i was being tossed between side quest-style missions. Other than that, it was pretty decent.

well yes the storie was decent ,
atleast i expectet abit more then just the rewards from missions and the timebonus's didnt expect like 100 mill or something but just a thing thats worth the 50+ missions for a lvl 1 epic

I don't remember normal lvl 1s paying out that much in high-sec space.
But, yeah. These forums seriously need some indicator that the post has ended and the sig has started. |

When CCP said epic, they didn't mean "OMG PURPLEZ!!!!!!!!" They meant a long series(epic) of story line missions with a good bit of history(epic) and some rewards involved.

50+ missions shoud give around 10 mill in high sec when its normal if u just find a + agent.

You got each missions payout and time bonuses and a book you would otherwise need to purchase.
Sounds a bit like rewards to me.

Edited by: kaloli on 26/03/2009 17:51:43 but try to count it out 10 mill for 50 missions = 200K isk pr mission thats less then i get from a + 10 agent or higher and the book for 30K isk is wortless IMO well ofcause i can use it but 30K isk isnt much

You know you keep talking about the isk, but if I could run 50 missions without a single repeat I would be a very happy missioner _______________ <Q> QUANT Hegemony QUANT is rebuilding, EVE-Mail me for recruitment info. Item Database |

It doesn't matter if YOU think it is worthless. The epic mission wasn't created for YOUR expectations. It was created by CCP to give people, who are interested, a series of relatively unique missions with story attached.
Just because YOU assumed you would get some epic reward doesn't mean CCP failed to deliver on what they intended.

iam not assuming anything , lvl 3 epic gives you like 100 mill + rewards but lvl 1 give u nothing , does this make any sence ???
but they failed in naming them then. i know what u mean but still call it epic mission and dont get any "epic" out of it not even LP -.- is nonsens

I liked it, story was good and the notes give you a lot of background. Ok as a experienced player I knew most, but not all of it.
Since I ran it in a Harpy, i didn't exactly expect any of the missions to be hard. I think the one mission where you can, but don't have to attack the 10 BS was put there just so experienced players could have some fun and make some isk.
I did find it a bit anticlimatic though, the final battle would have been nasty in a t1 fg, but not quite epic. Fighting through a few waves or pockets first would have made a more fitting finish.
Some other form of reward would have been nice too, possibly an implant, maybe a SOE decoration? And noticable SOE standing bump.

There's another epic storyline? I thought we just had the lvl 1 SoE one so far.
I do recall running lvl 1s for Intaki Space Police awhile back and getting about 200k payouts for them, and that's low nullsec... so the SoE chain seemed pretty good to me.

http://www.eveonline.com/devblog.asp?a=blog&bid=638
specificaly Quote: Epic Arcs, on the other hand, will be available only from unique agents (or strings of agents); they are linked together in an ongoing story that unfolds over the course of many missions. These missions also incorporate a new branching system, providing players with choices in the path through an Epic Arc. Finally, while the rewards for Epic Missions won't be vastly greater than those for normal missions, they will tend to give out cool new toys (or at least exceptional rewards) at the ends of chapters and, of course, at the end of each complete arc.
The sooner you realise the developers are full of crap the sooner you will be happy with how the game actualy is.
