Has this been bug reported?
All I know so far is it seem no medium drones can damage structures anymore, but all light drones still manage ti fine.

My Hobgoblin IIs don't seem to be able to destroy some structures either.
Assigned to destroy the Serpentis station at the end of a 3/10 complex they just orbited it admiring the architecture and didn't even fire.

Yeah, I had this issue with both medium and light drones in my pilgrim. I bugreported it and was told its a known issue, going to be fixed, etc.
Light/medium drones seem to only fail on oblong structures like NPC control towers or large structures like NPC battlestations.
Haven't been able to test heavy drones yet but a friend of mine was saying sentry drones work fine so I'm thinking they changed something between drones and structure hit radii...

Oh you had light drones not working too? I had them doing damage for some reason, just had mediums with zilch
Had no heavy drones to test.
I think this bug came with the 1.02 patch when they made a quite a few changes to drones and probably broke their abilities in places. *shrug*
If they don't even fire it's probably what Tonto says.

Valid but incorrect in this case...
What happens is the drones orbit the structure too close. To them it is 0 meters away thus when they fire their shots never show, they are just instantly consumed. With the tracking formula in eve (drones have tracking btw) a distance that is 0 always means NO hit with turrets. Missile users can hit targets from the "inside" however and that is thanks to missiles not tracking but rather exploding. Missiles never "miss" their target when it's in range. it just doesn't do any damage if the target is faster than the explosion velocity.
My opinions belong to me, you can't have them!

Strange thing is I can't destroy NPC tower using Hobgoblins IIs nor Hammerheads IIs, but I can do it with Vespa IIs (also using Pilgrim).

So, isn't this what he was trying to say in not so many words?... Tracking seems to use distance to edge instead of distance to center (which would make sense for falloff, but not for tracking).
