I just downloaded the new patch and logged on. I was on for about 4 or so minutes and the game crashed. So I log on again I thought it was a glitch or somthing. Im on for another 4 or so minutes and the game crashes again. Ive logged on another 2 times and it keeps crashing.

I am having the same problem.
My EVE Client keeps crashing to Black Screen of death after I get in.
It has only started to happen since the new Patch.
I downloaded new nForce drivers and new GFX drivers as well.
I am about to delete EVE client and try a fresh DL hope this fixes it.

ya this new patch has completely screwed up. i cant do anything except get disconnected and im running the best equipment, and my internet kinda sucks but i stream radio offf the net and it never disconnects it is eves fault. i cant even load 1 charge of phased plasma into a 200mm autocannon cause its tooo bigg!! what a load of bull, something with this patch has completely screwed it up. i cant play anymore i cant even mess around with ship fittings, i put something offline and the visual says its still online but i say put it offline agian and its like "it is offline" or some bull****. and whats the point of messing around when you just going to get disconnected or crashed every 30seconds.

I play with 3 accounts at once. I have never crashed before this patch today, Now on average one account crashes about every 40 to 50 minutes as well.

Same here since Patch, client crashes every typically every 15 to 50 min. But sometimes closer to 5 min (18 times in the last 5 hours). I noticed it seems to be when Camera is zoomed in kinda close then when u zoom out the game completely crashes out. But a couple of times it crashed with client zoomed all the way out without camera rotation.
I'm running XP with all the latest patches and updates. Nvidia 8600GT with recent drivers. Intel core 2 duo w/ 2 gigs ram. Before patch client would crash maybe 3-4 times a month with 3-6 hours a day of use.
Also game crashes in both full screen and windowed mode.

Everytime I'm in a station with the fitting window open and I right click on my ship I crash to the desktop.

I have the EXACT same problem.. I dont crash unless the fitting window is open but its when I alt tab back into eve does it crash and only after maybe the 3rd or 5th time usually.
*proceeds to removing the 'Alt' and 'Tab' keys*

I crashed 3 times tonight and logged out. I never crash. Honestly, I have no clue as to the problem. I was just floating in space each time, only happened as I was panning the camera around. Game is laggy everywhere, even just scrolling chat windows. Whole thing is coming unglued.

If you guys are crashing, be sure to try disabling HDR entirely. From my experience, I can tell you that loads of people who have had issues with Eve crashing/blue-screening are the same ones who have recently tried updating/reinstalling their GFX drivers. For most, messing with their drivers only causes more problems and is quite often related to Nvidia-default HDR settings conflicting with Eve's HDR settings.
So a few things to try if you're having crash issues with the client:
1. Disable HDR and Bloom in-game. Do NOT disable HDR within the Nvidia control panel as this has been shown to BSOD your computer when loading certain games/applications.
2. If you have multiple GPUs in SLI, try disabling SLI from within the Nvidia control panel. Some, not everyone, have experienced issues trying to get Eve to utilize an SLI setup. Mainly windowed-mode users.
3. Delete your prefs.ini file. Use google to find out where it's located. This file will be re-created when you start the game.
4. Backup/clear your cache files by renaming the folder where they are located. Once again, use Google to find their location. Only do this if you still have problems after freshly re-installing the client.
5. Make sure the entire Eve installation directory is added to the exclusions/whitelist of any anti-malware software you may be running. Some software comes with its own Vista UAC look-alike, like PC Tool's IntelliGuard, which can unknowingly interfere with functions of the Eve client.

Welcome to the club.. Eve's been crashing for me since apocrypha release - whenever any other software is running.. Vent, EFT, Firefox, EMMA. Anything crashes it.
A corpmate has the same problem, but only with vent.. Weird ehh?

Getting the same issue, crashing every couple of hours, often in combat. Never crashed before this patch and other people in my corp are having the same crashes since this patch.

Just to confirm the recent posts - I have the exact same issue since the new patch release. In dock, with the Fitting screen open, if I right click on my ship EVE crashes out.
Anyone from Technical Support care to respond to this thread? Maybe with a reassuring, definitive statement like 'we've identified the glitch and we're working to issue a new patch in x days'...?

I am completley locking up randomly. Ive tested alot of other settings including diabling HDR and even running on performance mode to no avail.

Mining,Warping,Afking in station the game has been completley locking up anywhere from 5mins in to 2 hours or more.
When you guys say 'crash' are you talking about a full system lock-up requiring a hard re-boot or being kicked to desktop?

I don't want to pick on you, but this is the kind of bug "report" I hate when I get them from my customers. It's the equivalent of someone telling their mechanic "There's something wrong with my car, help!".
You need to be as precise as possible as this makes it easier to locate where the bug is (if it even is a bug, and not an overheating power supply or faulty gfx card).
With your description a programmer wanting to locate the bug has to look at the whole program, because he does not know where you crash. But if you say (as I did in my bug report) "I crash when in a Kronos, have the fitting screen open and right-click the ship. It works in a Harbinger, Enyo, ... and aparently only in Minmatar station XYZ".
If your game crashes at random times mention that. Try to find a pattern even though it might not be possible - but try. For instance I had a repetetive crash a while ago that happened when I encountered an outlaw with hybrid weapons. Outlaws - fine. Hybrid weapon users - fine. Both together - immediate crash to desktop. I only did see the crash, and only by digging around and asking people I learned what caused it (a graphics driver update fixed that BTW).

No way to make a full bug report since the most popular Windows OS doesn't make process core dump on its crash. It even doesn't allow to copy-paste it's Crash report message. So the only thing people know to say when they file a report on this bug is "It randomly crashes. It had never crashed before the last patch". So if I were the dev I'd rolled back and returned the patch to the QA team and started a hard investigation with source files diffs the patch made of.

I have the same issue since last patch. The game crashes to desktop at random intervals.
It seems to crash more often during combat or otherwise when many ships are present.
It does not crash on the fitting screen. At least not more often than when doing other things in the game.
It does tend to crash most of the time when trying to exit the game.
Running in windowed mode seems to be a workaround so far.
I'm running windows XP SP3.
I had no problems with crashes before the last patch.
This is as precise as I can be without trying out every combination of ship, fitting, window position and mouse movement.
