wow, i never realized how addicted i was to EVE. It took a major disastor to show me. Granted i don't opt to play eve when i have a chance to go out and hang with friends or on a date, but i always had the ability to come home, change skills drunk, and go to bed.
With hurricane charlie, i was forced without the internet and phones for a week straight. Yea yea, some homes were damaged, a few people died, but i COULDN'T SET MY SKILL TRAINING! That was devastating
Now you might ask yourself, why am i posting this? Because it's the closest thing to EVE i can do at the moment. I'm stuck at someone elses house since they have power and only dialup.
alright, well, i finally got a bit of a fix of eve for today, what on earth will i do tomorrow for a fix? I'm not scheduled to have power at my place for 2-3 more days (oh think of what that fridge smells like ). I'll bet there are many more EVE withdrawn florida citizens too.
(god i hope my research agent didn't offer me a tech 2 bpo while i've been without power, if he did, i'm pressing that magic petition button)

Somehow I agree with that. Even as a joke, saying " Yea yea, some homes were damaged, a few people died, but i COULDN'T SET MY SKILL TRAINING!" is offensive. Imagine if a person whose relative died sees this. Will they be happy? No. Not that they will see this, but you got my point, I hope. --------------

I might be wrong but it seams that he was pointing out how adictive the game was not making small the fact that peoble lost lives, homes and Families
I myself is without a decent computer (and have been for the last 2 months) trust me i know how bad i got it not getting my EVE fix
I do feel for the poor peoble in Florida that lost everything however life does go on
also depending on he's age its hard for younger peoble to relate unless they lost someone themself

it's called comedic relief.
I am not belittling others if they might have lost a relative in the hurricane, and don't be so quick to judge that I myself did not loose valuables or have had personal damage. Since the incident I have worked full days, sunrise to sunset, to help clean, repair, feed, and council others. I am not some young kid at 13, yet am 22.
I was merely pointing out that yes, it is pitiful how addictive i felt i had become on playing eve, but i was not putting myself above any others. So please don't start with the attitudes of "holier then thou".
Besides, you can't get through tough times so serious and uptight, otherwise you'll become a very depressed and boring person. You have to keep your chin up and laugh at things.

If they're on here after a family member died, then they have issues. Only have themselves to blame in that case. :)
Don't take this as a post from emotionless b***h, but as someone who takes things very lightly. Living life with pent-up stress over something that doesn't concern you is foolish. Life is MUCH better if you can sit back and look at things objectively, and only respond if you have something useful to say. ------------ Elucidate - Extraordinarily Lazy Miner |

hmmmmmm...?
i find it hard pressed to feel sorry for any of it. i mean, you live in florida! how can you NOT know that a hurricane is on the way?! i live in chicago and i know about it. i mean, florida is kinda like 0.0 space at this point. hurricanes move slower than a fully loaded Iteron5. if you can't get out on time, then you have a serious problem and probably shouldn't be there in the first place...
but, alas, loss of life is terrible. best wishes to all affected directly or indirectly by the hurricane and it destructive path. next time, get out!
there is a fine, but dissasterous line between a fart and a shart. i suggest you make sure which side you want to be on... |

That was no natural hurricane, My megathron is in orbit around your puny planet! I have an ogre drone(charlie) in tight orbit around a jetty can about 50 miles of the coast..he whiped up that storm .....
Basically its like this............send me.........ONE MILLION ISK! Or your entire planet gets it........the onl ything that'll save you is a quick ogre drone nerf by CCP...........which is unlikely.
