The centers of wormhole systems are busy places for cosmic signatures. You can get several signatures in a 2au radius, but as you scan them down there's no way to mark a sig as "found". For instance I see three signatures using one probe. I take the time to scan one down and I bookmark it. Now if I increase my scan radius I'm back to seeing three sigs with no way to tell which one I just found.
Cosmic signatures should show up with a "signature" a unique identifier that can be filtered on so we can get the scan window to omit the stuff we've alread found. Either that or grav sites (which are the most common type) should show up as a different classification than "cosmic sig" maybe "asteroid belt" or something.

Once you've found a site and got a warpable result, simply make sure any future probes don't overlap that spot in space. Sure, it's a pain, but it's less of a pain than finding the same site over and over again

Edited by: Kva Plexcha on 28/03/2009 03:17:49 Denton, if you find 3 sigs within one probes radius, just position 4 probes around that probe (with one size larger radius) deactivate the first one, and scan. You get 3 red dots. Launch one more probe (total of 6 now ..) Set 2 to a small range (I usually do 1 au) and use them to bookmark the 2 highest % sigs. Then deactivate them and center the 4 probes around the last sig and reduce range and scan until you get warpable result. If you select one of the hits on the scan results, only that dot shows, making it easy to scan the lowest sig first. Once you have a book, activate one of the "bookmark" probes, center the 4 around it and recover the bookmark. Scan the 4, if no result increase the range, if result, decrease until found - repeat with last probe. If you have astro V you can run 8 probes in total, basically work on 5 sigs.
Maybe its not the clearest explanation, but its what I do and it works for me

Being able to properly interpret results is one of the challenges of the new system.

Quotin' for emphasis.
Apart from that, afaik there was a scan history planned but got kicked due to release date. Maybe soon (tm).
