"Mr. Smith, we've recieved a charge request from overseas to your credit card for a charge of 14.99 for... um.. *ahem* Eve Online?"
"IT'S A VIDEO GAME I SWEAR LADY"
"Riiiight.... should we go ahead and approve this?"
*sigh*
"Yeah, approve it...."
Everyone at the bank must think I'm an absolute perv...

I pay by debit but I doubt that makes a difference. But I'm at college, and I've gotten a call from my mother because she saw my bill report and activity (gets mailed to my permanent address) and was like wtf is that lol. She specifically said EVE Online.

A couple years ago I was planning an overseas trip, but had just left my job. Went to go sort some stuff out at the bank. So the girl helping me brings up my account details. Swivels the monitor to show me.
The screen says "CCP GAMES - REYKJAVIK" and "BLIZZARD - WOW" (or similar, neither had the full game name on the screen) with most of the details truncated. And I was quite surprised when she pointed and said "the only regular outgoings are your EVE Online and World of Warcraft subscriptions".
edit - just to put to rest the 'but the game is on the bank details', not for my bank. EVE shows up as 'CCP Games ORDERID xxxx'

I didn't think of it, it happened yesterday when I re-activated my other account. I only wish it was a joke. The lady calling me about a card charge took me by surprise, I never really thought of what "Eve Online" looks like on a billing statement....
And as for whether or not is says CCP, I believe the statement (or computer screen, or whatever teh hell she's looking at) she reads says CCP is getting paid, but the service provided for the payment is listed as "Eve Online".

Confirming that it does show up as Eve Online.
I too have had the awkward talk of "yes i want to pay for that service" with the credit rep on the phone.
My first card actually wouldnt put it through because the rep said "that's just not the type of service we feel comfortable endorsing, sir"
I guess that phobos is pretty sexy but seriously?

It can show up as either depending on who the bill went through. CCP uses a couple different billers and can show up as either eve online or as CCP games depending on that. I have seen both when I was running two accounts had one show one thing the other show another.

I use one of those faceless loadable debit cards. Works everywhere with no issues about anything and I can load it up virtually anywhere 24/7. Bank cards are too freaking restrictive and have all these death of a thousand penny charges left and right and can be royal pains in the arse about even out of state charges. Bah just go to the corner store grab one of them from a rack and tell your bank to go frak off. Saying that the ops story is lulz.

Thats part of the problem. Most female bank rep's= pain in the ass because a lot of them think pon=bad or something. If you feel like there chiding you or something just ask for a different rep and never tolerate there behavior and if you feel like they are looking down on you ask to speak to there supervisor and file a complaint.
