Im thinking of going to the FanFest only problem is that i'll be the only one from my corp attending and we are not part of any alliance atm.
So I wanted to hear if anyone out there have any FanFest solo experiences they would like to share?

fanfest is just a good excuse to go to the blue lagoon drunk with fellow eve players..doesn't matter if you are not in a corp or alliance (says he in one - but still going solo by the looks of things so far).
It's the love of playing with internet spaceships that really matter ;)

It was nice for me, of course I had the fellow CSM to hang out with, but they quickly went off to their own corps and alliances. But the roundtables were very good, and the demos and presentations and the opportunity to talk with the devs. And the overall atmosphere of course!
Plenty of people to talk to and hang out with, and at least there is something in common to discuss: Eve!

I'm trying to convince the girlfriend to come along with me. I get to party with other pilots ('cause I don't know ANY around my area  ) and she gets to see Iceland. Win-win  .
Of course, if she can't I'll probably still go. Solo EVEing for the win.

I went to the first one and was the sole member of my corp. Ended up leaving as part of an alliance and had a bucketload of fun...
If you can go, go, you won't regret it.

Well,I just booked my ticket, and I'm going solo too :) Flying from London on the afternoon flight on the 1st- anyone else on that flight?

I went last year on my own. Had a great time, although i could not afford spending money on boozing every night. I spent all day each day at fanfest attending as many events as i could.

This will be my third fanfest, and third time going solo. I actually think it's more fun that way, since you can't hang out with people you know you pretty much have to talk to new people, and that's one of the things that make me come back every year.
Take my word for it, even if you feel utterly lost and alone when arriving you'll get to know all kinds of interesting people and simply have the time of your life. There's nothing better.

me and the missus are thinking about going again this year but we're going for a week this time round and going to see some of the country.
check iceland air for ticket prices we are looking at saving ú500 by booking seperate flights and sourcing our own hotel.
i would not recommend the loftleider hotel we stayed there last year and it's a bit far out tbh.
we're going to be staying at the vik this time round looks to be only a few minutes walk from the conference centre about 20-30 from town can't wait to go back to the steak house we found last year.

I plan to be heading along solo. The chance to meet new people, see Iceland, and have a huge party all sound win-win to me :)
I imagine there will be many more in the same boat as me, and so more than enough people to form an roaming gang with  .

I am fortunate in the fact that I shall be going, but doing it on the cheap as it were...I lived there for 7 years and hence have a lot of friends in the downtown area, so no hefty hotel bills for me thank you very much...It will be hard juggling fanfest and seeing my mates over the weekend, but I am sure I will cope somehow ;)

I would also like to go very much, however I would be going solo also. I think I may not go because I also do not have an alliance. I wish I could find some peeps around new england to go with, or maybe meet up with others there.
