Edited by: Hyphatia on 30/03/2009 12:15:20 Hello. EVE is one of the most interesting mmorpgs of today. There are trully amazing features into EVE, however, i am going to write only, and briefly of the few bad things of the game.
I know that walking in stations is not a very important thing fot a lot, but it is for me. I want an EVE being trully real, a hard sci-fi space opera game, very deep, fine, and amazing to play. And a mature mmorpg (not like Conan) Yes, good choice not to allow chars to run! ;-) (I imagine that to run will consume our energy very fast, so, we can to run, but in a realistic way). The new dimension of the interaction between players into the Stations beyond th ships will wear EVE to a new place.
Second... The PLANETS. The amazing planet which we can see at the start of the 2008 Fan Fest, Walking in Stations, is not true in the game. planets in EVE are cold ice creams, sad and forgotten in the far of the background of EVE... Are ugly and not in harmony with the other game features.
So... try to do these things better guys!

They really do need to "premium"-ize the planets :( they look terrible. and I don't see why we can't have walking on planets when we get walking in stations, it's just a matter of adding docking rings ala-freelancer to planets and changing the walking around enviroments ------------------- |

The OP's post is filled with lies and slander! The planets are not made of iced cream!
Yea, for I have flown into the center of these planets, and lo, there was no ice cream (nor cake).
The ice cream is a lie

Planets and Nebulas are getting updated this summer. They were suppose to be updated with the last expansion, Apocrapheelia, but they didn't have the resources to do both mod graphics and planet graphics, so mods got the focus.

Planets are considerably bigger than stations, sooner or later people will want more than that little docking port ala Freelancer.

They should add Planetside to EvE! Think about it, one side assaults the station of another alliance. First the space battle between ships, then the fight against the station's defenses. And after that a raid into the station in ego-shooter mode.

Walking in stations is a good way to step towards walking on planets.
If WiS works, we might get new servers for planets. Imagine the Space Opera we would get! Protecting a planet against orbit attacks. Wow.

Hmm, I wouldn't say that EVE is hard sci-fi... with FTL and jumpgates and so on... Space opera... hmm, perhaps...
Anyway, I love EVE and looking forward to WIS .

Edit: I have carefully considered the proposals outlined in the original post and I concur with the original poster's views, in particular with those views which pertain to the current status of the graphical representation of celestial bodies within the game client, and the recommended prioritisation of future changes to said graphical representation by the relevant members of the development team.
Furthermore in an attempt to assuage any further concerns about the degree of meaningful contribution to the topic of discussion made in this post, I provide herein a link to related material for the perusal of any interested parties, with the justification for said material having relevance being that it approximates the desired outcome of the aforementioned proposed future changes to the graphical representation of celestial bodies within the game client.
Also my post still says /youknowwhat
I LOL'd.
I also wish to express a sympathetic stance to the points made concerning celestial bodies within the EVE universe. The apparent lower orbit for stationary constructs as seen in the picture provided by the quoted poster would especially be eligible to my utmost appreciation, of course in combination with the added texture detail suggested by said picture.
That said I would also like to mention that the ability to ambulate before mentioned stationary structures will meet with a strong sense of satisfaction on my part. Especially when mentioning to the people in my alliance that I will be in my office, subsequently being found in such a location would highly impress me. I would go so far as that there are chances that the first time this happens such a visitor might find me very choked up, there might even be tears.
Will this do as an agreement format mr. Navigator? -----

I like those ideas, planets REALLY stand out as cold and ugly... that and the backgrounds I think are near the top of the pile when it comes to graphics.
By the way, whats wrong with /signed???? Its no different than saying "I agree" how is that spam???

Unless you're a newly hatched pod person, you already know that EVE is capable of a large array of negative feelings. But let me add that all of EVE's vituperations are paralogistic. Here's my side of the story: I'm not writing this letter for your entertainment. I'm not even writing it for your education. I'm writing it for our very survival.
Ignorance is bliss. This may be why EVE's spin doctors are generally all smiles. EVE is reluctant to resolve problems. It always just looks the other way and hopes no one will notice that we must summon up the courage to enable patriots to use their freedoms to save their freedoms. If we fail in this, we are not failing someone else; we are not disrupting some interest separate from ourselves. Rather, it is we who suffer when we neglect to observe that if EVE feels ridiculed by all the attention my letters are bringing it, then that's just too darn bad. Its arrogance has brought this upon itself. Now that this letter is over, I pray that my logic and passion have convinced you that EVE's unedifying preoccupation with tribalism will create problems that our grandchildren will have to live with in the coming days.

The last time I rented a pod, I found some space chocolate floating in the bio fluid, just after undocking. It was then I swore I would never fly a rental again.

I wouldn't consider Eve to be hard sci-fi or space opera, either. Plus, those two are kind of opposites--space opera and hard sci-fi, I mean.
