o/ guys
Im primarily a caldari that flies drakes and tengu. I'd like to explore the career of WH space and so would like to keep using the tengu for pve, and cross train to another race for pvp.
what would be the pros and cons of either race in WH small gangs? Not interested in Minmatar race Any input (including trolling) is appreciated! |

I have a feeling ship balancing will become a much more reactive and short-term affair moving forward so I would say its finally safe to train what you like. That said Amarr is pretty solid for wormholes afaik. Elements of the past and the future combining to make something not quite as good as either. |

Wormholes really like to pop you out ball touchingly close, so Gallente (read: blasters) is actually pretty decent there. Amarr is hands down better for the PVE side of it though.

Really? in the C3 WH my main's corp is in, as far as the sub caps for the noms/non-grav sitePvE: I've never seen a non-caldari boat except a Myrmidion and a Rattlesnake (if that counts as Non-Caldari) - I think another ship type may have been briefly flown in a hacking site, swapped out from the carrier when needed.
I've been wondering how well a Harby would tank them, and if scorched pulse would have enough range, or if beams would have enough tracking. I also figure a Domi might do pretty good
Others in the corp make use of Gal ships for PvP though, such as the Taranis and Arazu. Haven't seen Amarr ships put to much use in either aspect
As far as cross training, I initially trained for Gallente drone boats, as the drone skills would carry over to any other race's cruiser/BC/BS lineup.
I assume if you were to go to a gallente drone boat (myrmidion, Ishtar, or even an Ishkur), a lot of the skills would improve your main ship line.
Also, you've said you mainly fly drakes and tengus... how are your hybrid skills? If you've got those halfway started, then training for gallente will be even easier, and will benefit the ships you can already fly.
Also, your missile skills will be of some use with a few Gallente ships (Lachesis, Tristan, Eris, etc) |

I have small hybrids trained to V so i suppose I should probably keep building up the tech tree I suppose. Although I love the buffer tank on amarr ships, but I also love the blasters xD |

Gallente will mean drones and the Myrmidon and Dominix are nice all-rounder. With a dual-repper and cap booster fit can they tank quite a lot of DPS, too.
The Proteus is said to go up to 400k eHP, so I have read, if this is of any use to you. |

If you have high shields go Minnie, high Missiles go Amarr, high Hybrids go Gallente. Gallente/Caldari pirate ships are some mean ships to fight against, the rattlesnake has arguably the best subcap tank of any ship in the game. |

Were things to stay the same they are now I would say go with Amarr over Gallente for wormies. (disclaimer- I have no experience living in wormholes ) I would simply be going from what I've read about pve in wormies. For pvp a curse is fun to have in a smaller fight and most likely your corp would be shield tanking and have shield logis For cheap pvp an arbitrator can be fun as well. Also, having trained only small hybrid spec it is no big deal to switch over to lasers at this point.
My better answer though is don't decide at this time. There is supposedly a balancing patch coming at the end of this month In case it does you may want to make your decision after seeing some of what's coming. If you are going to be wanting to upgrade your gunnery then upgrade your support gunnery skills, the ones required for both tech II pulse/beam and tech II blasters/rails. Or train the support skills you've always had in the back of your mind to put to 5 but haven't yet. |
