For systems with 40-50 AU. The retriever always needs to stop three times before finally reaching the destination. The retriever is bigger than a destroyer but has less cap than one and eats a fat amount of cap that it becomes annoying.
You are probably thinking that its not a big deal and all that, but its ridiculous,
an iteron 1 is probably bigger than a retriever, but has more cap and spends the same amount as a destroyer or a frigate when warping.
The retriever uses as much as a cruiser and with a small cap size of around only 256, its a problem.

I agree, they should have better cap because a lot of the time they are hauling for themselves and having a ship that can't support itself is a bad design. Although you canget the skills to improve cap, or cap upgrades.

It's been a long as time since I flew a retriever, but I don't recall having too many cap issues once I trained the capacitor skills and related nav skills to 4.
What are yours at?

My energy skills are all level 4 at least.
If you travel more than 45 AU, your retriever will stutter and stop dead in its tracks.

Edited by: Fullmetal Jackass on 01/04/2009 07:46:54 I'll go pull one out of mothballs and find a nice big system to play in.
Could be working as intended, in which case good luck gettin it changed.
What's your warp drive operation skill at?

93.834 AU warp range with 312 cap. My skills are at 5 though.
It's a somewhat small capacitor, but it seems like it would get the job done for most systems in game.
More power to ya if you get it improved.

its a mining barge. to haul stuff, you use a hauler, to mine stuff, you use a mining barge.
try to use one as the other and it wont work very well.
also, just for the record, i can warp across 90AU on a full cap bar, and my cap skills arnt as good as i might like.
stop whining and get some skillpoints.

yup i agree mining barges are not for long haul flights so carry it in a hauler
rigging t1 barges is a waste too
if u wanna fly long haul in a barge get a t2 barge

Oh goodness, I remember my Retreiver. Had a max warp range of 35 AU back when my energy skills were only up to level 3. Made things a nightmare.

I have almost no problem with a Retriever and I have medicore navigation skills at the moment. I did buy a procurer to see a stripper in action while waiting the next two levels for a Retriever, the Proc was getting like 15 AU to the tank. It paused 4 times from the time it left the dock, warped to gate, jumped and warped to the belt. Getting a hulk in 2 days, hope I don't have problems moving that pig

mining barges this is a single type of the ship with such problem. At least I did not see nothing like on other ships. You do not consider that this somehow... wrongly I'd like this problem to be solved. Or make same issue for other ships... for balance Only strong can be equitable unselfish |
