So I've got the 25.000 Loyalty Points and the 25 Millions.
Question is; is it worth it? Would it be a significant upgrade in training times? |

Just purchase the 2 implants that are primary to your remap/current plan. See what you think of that.
Some people make clones and put the next set of implants into the new clone. Saves/Banks your old stuff for a rainy day.
I run +IV's even for PvP. If I end up with 4 or 5 of them in my head...it means I haven't been podded in a long time :P I def think they are worth it. |

Thing is, I'm kinda new, so I'm sort training a lot of skills which depend on all the attributes. |

Being new alot of the skills are fairly short times anyway mate so I would probably just save up that LP and ISK and train/save till you can afford +4's, by that time you will be looking at days per skill level rather than hours. |

+2 to +3 is not a big jump. You still can use them with Cybernetics I and +3s don't cost that much on market.
In fact, I'd advise against buying +3s with your LPs. Chances are, your NPC corp offers some skill wire implants, a few of which have some pretty healthy profit margins (compared to the vanilla implants). Buy some profitable skill wires with your LPs, sell them on the market, use the proceeds to buy your +3s with some ISK leftover for you to pocket.
Going from +3 to +4 is your major step as not only do you need to shell out the cash for the +4s, you need to commit to getting Cybernetics 4 to equip them. (Not a huge hurdle in the long run, but for very young characters it can feel like an eternity).
Once you start sticking +4s and skillwires in your brain, it is time to consider getting a jump clone to hop into if you ever need to wander into low. I don't make minerals. I just make ore 20% cooler. |

Get a jumpclone first, so you can save the +2 for getting blown-up in a riskier situation.
If you or your corp doesn't have 8.0 standing with a NPC corp with cloning facilities, you can temporarily join EACS and make as many as you have skill for. https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=8574 |

+4s are where you want to be for most cases. +5s if youre a HS carebear, +2s in null. |

A tiny amount of missioning for the right NPC corps can get you a new set of +4's, for quite an affordable amount of cash.
I understand not everybody wanting to PvP in +5's, specially if you get podded a lot, but +4's are quite worth it as the standard set, in my opinion.

One has the perc/will +4s and the other has the int/mem ones. That's 40 million ISK per clone, which isn't really all that much. "+5s" are the highest end of the vanilla implants, the ones that affect only the character attribute. The naming scheme is (using the perception implant as an example):
- Limited Ocular Filter: +1
- Limited Ocular Filter - Beta: +2
- Ocular Filter - Basic: +3
- Ocular Filter - Standard: +4
- Ocular Filter - Improved: +5
So the Ocular Filter - Improved implant adds 5 points to your Perception attribute when fitted to your current clone.
Snakes, Slaves, and Crystals are the most commonly used of the pirate implants, although there are others. Low Grade pirate implants have a base character attribute bonus of +2, a ship attribute bonus, and a set bonus that multiplies the effectiveness of the implants when using multiple ones from the same set. Regular pirate implants have a base character attribute bonus of +3, the same ship attribute bonus as the low grade implants, and a higher set bonus.
Some pirate sets only exist in low-grade, while some have both regular (some call them high grade) and low grade varieties. Pirate sets also have a 6th slot module that simply multiplies the effect of the other 5 implants in the set.
Pirate sets with both low-grade and high-grade varieties are:
- Crystal (shield boost bonus)
- Grail (radar sensor strength bonus)
- Halo (signature radius reduction)
- Jackal (ladar sensor strength bonus)
- Slave (armor HP bonus)
- Snake (velocity bonus)
- Spur (magnetometric sensor strength bonus)
- Talisman (energy emission system module duration reduction)
- Talon (gravimetric sensor strength bonus)
Pirate sets with just low-grade varieties are:
- Centurion (ewar optimal range bonus)
- Edge (booster side effect reduction)
- Harvest (mining laser range bonus)
- Nomad (agility bonus)
- Virtue (scan probe strength bonus)

I don't see much merit in going out of your way to preserve some +2's. In the long run, even a full set of +4's is pretty expendable. Once you get established, you'll find that 100 mil is pocket change.

..I say hold out for +4's. They really arn't very expensive. I've always ran with a full set for the odd skill that I can't wait for.
I also second getting a clone to save those +2's. You will want/need a few jump clones in the future, and no need to waste the implants. They might come in handy sometime. Like if you get ganked and poded, and are quite a few jumps from a hub.
Question: Are there a lot of pilots who use the pirate set of implants? Just the uber rich PvPers? And, do they provide a significant and noticeable benefit while piloting? |
