How do you pickup/open them locked secure containers you find in space? when I try to open one it asks for a password. Is there anyway to hack them or pick them up?
Any help would be wonderful. :) sorry for such a newbie question.. hehe

if u guess the correct pass yes u can open it
If u are thinking of ore thieves, wot they do is steal ore from people that are jet can mining (mining into a can that u have ejected into space). These are not secure and any1 can take stuff from it, most wont thou
secure containers are pretty secure. u can blast em open but it takes a damn long time and is also an aggressive act. Do it in high sec space and concord will come and gank u

scooping is what a indy pilot does when the secure container is not anchored, in other words, is not secure. ----------------

So in that case, if I see cans left floating around a belt in 0.8 or higher, since they cannot be anchored I can scoop them up and run off with them?

Theoretically, yes. In reality, most of the containers you'll find have probably been anchored before the changes that prevent one from anchoring in ultra-high sec space were made. So, most likely, no. --- Having recently acquired a lab slot (thank you, rental bug), I wholeheartily concur, there's absolutely no problem with lab slots! |
