Edited by: Bo''Tox on 03/04/2009 03:55:17 Hello,
I trained up medium pulse lasers to L2 and fitted the 6 guns with Multifrequency and conflag.
When hitting with multi's I can do 800 hits/volley, frequently taking rats in a single hit. When hitting with conflag I cant scratch the surface of the shields....
When I switched back to multi's, The conflag were seperated instead of stacked, probably due to damage. All Gunery skills are L4, except for Small, Med Guns and Guneery which are L5 (obviously as is req for T2 guns). The damage was REPORTED as 0.1 for each crystal...
I know that the crystal damage makes them useless but to get only a single shot out of conflag before they are useless seems to be a bit of a trap.
Are these working as intended or am I missing something to make them work efficiently?
The descripotion says something about shield boosting, but as an Amarr does this mena you MUST dual tank in order to use T2 pulse guns???
Thanks in advance.

I'm hoping this is a joke but i'll humour you.
Imagine T2 ammo like a large pizza. If you cook the pizza and burn 0.1 of it, Do you throw 1.0 of it away?
Reload your guns and get back to work.

I recall seeing something about T2 crystals over a year ago but I recall it related to the fact that they were damaged... Since they were not badly damaged then I cant see why they would simply fail so badly.
Yes, I unloaded and reloaded them. I was in optimal + falloff, tried Optimal, tried FALLOFF, tried OPTIMAL+(FALLOFFX2)
Nothing made a difference. Ratted in two systems in 4 belts each and the conflag never made a dent in anything. Switch afte 5 mminutes doing nothing (over half cap used on frigate sized rat with no effect whatso ever - hell I didnt even get a "glance for 0hp") I switched to multi's and instapop.
From your sarcastic tone I guess I'm not doing anything wrong and that this is petitionable.
Is there anyone who has seen the same thing happen to them (recently) and should I petition it as an issue with conflag M? I gather that the GM's/Dev's should be bale tolook at the details and logs to see why the crystals are so mega-fail?

Did you take into consideration the -50% range that conflag gives you?

There's your problem. Trying to hit frigate sized rat which is probably orbiting you with angular velocity far greater than your tracking. You did notice T2 crystals give tracking penalty too, right? So use your turrets to shoot the BS and cruiser sized rats and let drones deal with frigs. Or fit a web to slow the frigs down.
And you can use damaged crystals. You just can't stack (or contract, which bloody annoying) them.

The only reason to use Conflag is if you cant get AN Multi.
Scorch, on the other hand, is amazing.

Thanks!
I know it gave a penalty and I thought I had accounted for that but I never thought that the transversal would affect it to this extent. From 800 volley with multi's to nothing with conflag was a hell of a shock! I thought I must be doing something wrong...
Thanks for the info.

I'll try it... i know it has a penalty, but I imagine it is better than radio!

Scorch does the same damage as tech 1 gamma crystals. Atleast if the target is large and slow enough, scorch does get a tracking penalty as well after all.
I'd recommend using navy multifreq cystals for up close work and scorch for your medium range needs.

Radio's have a range BOOST, conflag's have a range PENALITY.
I haven't tried the navy multi's yet, but scorch's work really well for range and power.
