Hello, unlike all other hundreds of games I played in my life, the mouse wheel zoom in EVE is inverted (scrolling down=zoom in, scrolling up=zoom out). Is there an option to revert this to normal? I tried google but it have trouble finding "eve online" correctly and give me completely unrelated stuff.
Thanks.

You already posted this exact same thing a few days ago. And nobody cared in that thread either.
Does it really spoil the game for ya? ---

Don't think there is a way.
Interestingly enough, I hadn't even noticed it was inverted before I read this thread.

Yes it spoils the game. It prevents me to use the zoom feature.

It is annoying, but eventually you do get used to it. I still get confused sometimes switching from Eve to other games.
It's really non-intuitive, though. Look at your mouse on your desk or wherever. Rolling the wheel forward (toward your internet spaceship) should zoom in.
It really should be changeable. Add this to the list of UI things that need to be fixed.

Good, someone that finally understand and doesn't do a useless post. Thank you Kyra!

Just because someone understands you, doesn't mean that it's a useful post. In the end, Kyra did nothing to solve your problem and did nothing more than agree with you. I'm saying this because you seem to be falling into the idea that people who disagree with you are "useless" or "unhelpful", and that people who agree with you are "useful" and "helpful". In reality, their utility/helpfulness is independent of the fact that they understand you.
If it's any consolation, I also agree with you that there should be a way to switch the way you zoom a mouse. Though I would disagree that such a trivial thing should prevent you from using the zoom function in it's entirety. It's just an annoyance, really.

"Zoom-In"? "Zoom-Out"?
You know you're controlling a camera-bot, right?
Scroll-UP = Increase distance from ship
Scroll-DOWN = Decrease distance from ship
Makes perfect sense to me.
Get over yourself.

I just told you how it makes sense.
I'm just really upset that I don't have a brain to sell you. Everyone would profit then.

So it's a bot? Then if I shoot someone's else bot his screen will go black and I'll be able to kill him easily? Geez, at least I'm thinking farther.

Sure, but it has a sig radius of roughly no centimetres, so it would take you about an hour to lock onto it, your guns wouldn't track it, and missile explosions wouldn't have any effect. Also, seeing as how it can move at >5000km/s, I think your missiles (much less explosion velocity) and drones wouldn't be able to keep up with it…
…also, it's filtered out as background noise on your overview and brackets. Lore explanation complete. Good luck… ——— “If you're not willing to fight for what you have in =v=… you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.” — Karath Piki |

Maybe read some backstory.
Your ship makes as many as it needs.

Lore explanation needs just a tiny bit more. These camera drones are also incredibly cheap, so your ship has plenty of replacements that it can instantly redeploy in the event that one of the camera drones malfunctions or gets destroyed. Which is why things like smart bombs which ignore tracking/target locking can't be use to shut down a pod pilot's visual input.

Eh, inverted?
Seems like the normal orientation to me, as with most other programs I use, including SolidWorks which I use at work. Then when I use DWGEditor or something, it's all backwards and ****es me off
Scroll wheel towards you, that's zoom in. IIRC, that's how most programs are *shrugs* |

QFT. It's not a biggy, but it can certainly be annoying for those of us who play more games than just this.
Fortunatly most other games do have adequate UIs (tbh: unlike eve) and offer an invert option, so I 'simply' inverted everything else instead of makeing 'zooming' a conscious decision instead of the intuitive action it should be. |
