Since the speed changes implemented a few patches ago the value of Tech 2 micro warp drives has waned. The extra capacitor required to activate them is greater then the capacitor penalty reduction gained. Tech 1, meta 0 MWDs use about the same cap or less, and have much easier fitting requirements -not to mention are considerably cheaper. Since there is now no extra speed to be gained from T2 drives there is really no reason to fit them.
One possible solution to this is to set their cap useage to the same as, or much closer to the amount used by their T1 counterparts. They would still have higher power grid requirments to fit, thereby not breaking any cardinal T2 rules.
Hopefully this can be addressed soon as they are quite useless in their current form.

They seem to be about the same as far as cap stability goes... if they're the only module running.
With the T2 you still have more cap to use for other things, and more cap recharge in general.
But, yeah. These forums seriously need some indicator that the post has ended and the sig has started. |

Bump... I would love to hear from anyone who can bother to write more then 2 lines that contain no valid counter argument (with their noob alt, no less).

Reduce the T1 versions by 25% across the board (all stats) - that should make the T2 more favourable to use again.
Leave the faction versions as they.

Just cause you don't want to accept it doesn't mean it's not a valid argument.
T2 microwarpdrives give you better cap recharge when not using the microwarpdrive.
T2 microwarpdrive uses approximately the same percentage of capacitor as a T1 microwarpdrive with the penalty in the equation(1 cap of 0.75 cap amount for T1, or 1.333... ratio; 1.1 cap of 0.83 cap amount for T2, or 1.325... ratio) named microwarp drive is more interesting then T2 and T1, that's the case for many T2 modules actually, weapons are pretty much the only exception to that.

Edited by: Loveslave Dave on 10/04/2009 16:18:10 Just bring back velocity variation between t1/t2/faction mwd's and have done with it. [increase web %'s again to compensate]
I know some people are gonna disagree but...**** 'em.

Pretty much what he said. No change needed.

Heh, just thought it was funny that my 'noob alt' is 2 years older than the OP
