I am new here really and am interested in building a ship for massive mining potential. I have one character for mission runs, now I want one for mining. Any ships with loadout descriptions would be appreciated.

Racial mining frig -> Racial mining cruiser -> Retriver -> Covetor -> Hulk
Lowest mining amount <-----------------------------> Highest mining amount
Don't bother with the Procurer, the mining frigates beat it at mining amount so it's only use is Ice mining which it isn't very good at.

Thx I will look at all later, but seems like my goal is the Hulk. Will work towards that. Still will accept replies and loadout suggestions....

highs: 3x tech 2 modulated strip miners.
meds: small shield booster (faction for perma-tanking), 2x hardeners, surver scanner/cap recharger/warp scrambler
lows: Mining Laser Upgrades.
rigs:
high sec: 2x cargohold optimization.
low sec: 2x polycarbon housing (always align, get to warp faster if pirates show up).
0.0: shield resist rigs, for tanking battleship rats.

Unless you have a second account for the mining character it will not make sense to train a new character for mining.

For maxium yield, bar any expence, this:
[Hulk, Mining King]
Mining Laser Upgrade II
Mining Laser Upgrade II
Survey Scanner II
Gistii A-Type Small Shield Booster
Azeotropic EM Ward Salubrity
Supplemental Thermal Barrier Emitter
Modulated Strip Miner II, Veldspar Mining Crystal II
Modulated Strip Miner II, Veldspar Mining Crystal II
Modulated Strip Miner II, Veldspar Mining Crystal II
Drone Mining Augmentor II
Drone Mining Augmentor II
Mining Drone II x5
Hornet EC-300 x5 (or whatever)
Need high skills, but pull nigh 2000/min. In a gang with bonuses this will strip asteroids belts like no tomorrow.
And, the drones pull 400/min ore out of that total, so its worth it. The T2 rigs is a bit pricy tho, but T1 rigs do well also.

This is the fit I usually fly. I once took on two geddons at the same time and came out on top so it's definitely tried and true.
