Just noticed the price spike on dyspr... is it market manipulation or natural phenomena? Will my lovely t2 ships cost more?

Dysprosium moons in Delve/Querinious which were formerly owned by BoB/Ken switched hands and belongs now to Goons/Morsus Mihi/Razor. However those moons are still fought over and some of them switched ownership recently again - the supply from there is far from being stable.
Furthermore many Dysprosium moons in the Fountain/Syndicate area are sieged also which means even more strain to the current Dysprosium supply.
Better get the Dysprosium stuff as long as it is cheap
In general: at best constant (right now reduced) supply meets increased demand. That means, yeah right, increasing prices.

A lot
With a Dys price at 200k one moon makes (200.000 * 100 * 24 * 30) around 14 bil per month.
To hurt the enemy, it is easiest to attack their high end moons. Even a short disruption in the moon production will cause quite some financial loss to them.
That is what we are seeing at the moment. And that is why Dysprosium is so expensive.

Edited by: Ariane VoxDei on 07/04/2009 16:35:08 Your T2 ships already cost more.
The hike in T2 ships started back in december, but really picked up in speed in mid-january and hit the current level around the first week of february.
Example, marauders went from 600-650M early december to >900M early feb. and have been there since. Guess what happened around 9 weeks ago.
Question really is, will it begin settle back down or will the winners be able and willing to force the prices even further up.

At 300/pu people will start reacting cadmium to get their ferrofluid. There is a theoretical short term ceiling on the price of that stuff.
Me, I'm loving it. Fewer people flying t2 means far, far more t1 going kapow. Which means more t2 modules being bought. <3 <3 <3
I'm just stocking up on ship BPCs as invention schedules permit. Racial ship datacores are going to be free for the taking soon. It amazes me that people just refuse to switch. They'd make more ISK harvesting other datacores with a IV in the science skill (4 days of training or so) than they do now even with a V in most starship engineerings!

Quoted for truth.
Just had close to 30 orders finally move this week. Sure it only took 2 months, but at a 30% mark up I can't complain to much. |
