I like to watch spooky films in the dark on my own. Wierd I know but we all have our vices. Just wondering if anyone could recommend anything along the lines of films like Mothman Prophecies and White Noise. The kinda films that discourage you from wandering around on your own at night. I'm also have a weakspot for alien abduction movies. Watching those episodes of X-Files with people being stuck in paralysed in their beds while the greys surrounded them in the dark in am empty house similarly messed me up.
Please nothing that isn't english because I can't be arsed reading the subtitles and the voice dubs they use are usually terrible ****y london acccents.

i usually don't watch scary or spooky movies, however i do watch sci channel a lot at night. Twilight Zone, The Outer Limits, and those sucky movies are good for a laugh.

I saw the original version and it was pretty good yes but I'm not interested in watching it again. Good suggestion though. To the poster before I used to watch Outer Limits and thought it was pretty cool. The episode where they get stuck in some wierd space hole thing with an alien ship and start to get visitations from the ghosts of the dead aliens was kinda cool.

This, and make sure you see the original japanese version (ringu), not the poor hollywood knockoff produced a few years later. Not that it was a very bad movie, but it was not true to the ambiance of the japanese original. Another good one is the japanese ju-on (the grudge), also remade by hollywood, don't really remember how good or bad the job was on that one though.

I quite liked that film. Saw it on DVD in Asda the other day thought they were trying to get ú10 for it. Rip-off.

I recommend The Mist (Stephen King's The Mist): IMDB
This is a really creepy movie, and is nothing like the usual adaptions of Stephen Kings stories.

event horizon?
I found that movie absolutly terrifying. Or at least the first half or so, before it became so graphical and obvious. Still an awesome movie, but would have been awesome if theye could have kept the suspence from the start troughout the entire movie(then agian, I was sort of glad when that was lost, as I was absolutly terrified)
