It's been a few weeks now since the last patch, that was supposed to "fix" some issues in EVE... They fixed it all right...
webbing a target that your ship is bumping and getting a message "the webifier requires the object to be 100000m or closer"... popping a rat at few km away from you with drones that only have range of 52km, and the wreck appearing some 75km away from you... 0.o Salvaging the same wreck and after the salvaging completed the can with loot is another 10-15km away...(salvager works at 5km)
The above pics show how it feels being hit by rats from 6 million kilometers...

Dude! Re-install your client completly. I got rid of those exact bugs that way (incl. the constant disconnects)

You mean downloading the entire fecking client, what's it now, 1.5GB? So the answer to the bull**** they create each time is: do it yourself, coz our logs show nothing wrong? IT'S YOUR FAULT DEAR PLAYER...

your de-synced.
Re-log for work around.
But yea, the amount of bugs at the moment is getting intolerable, Chances are they already have been fixed but CCP likes to leave things as long as possible and fix as much as they can in ONE massive patch, which historically brings even more bugs, which is our fault for not testing and bug reporting enough. |

You put your nos in your lowslots. They are confused and crashing your spaceship game as a result.

You're de-synced. Chances are your ISP or a piece of software on your machine are screwing up packets being sent to you are somehow malformed by the time the EVE client gets it. --- Grez: I shot the sheriff Kalazar: But I could not lock the Deputy BECAUSE OF FALCON |

no need to reinstall. to be "somewhat" on th safeside, delete your cache from eve, but this prolly wont help much in the Desync issues.
Iam assuming you have a router, not a direct connection? Whats your ISP ? Did you do netplotter routes yet?

I hear about all of these massive bugs and still I'm not encountering any of those, I haven't experienced anything wrong with the skill queue, mission running etc. The only thing is that once when I docked out of station, the game crashed, but that have happened on some occasions before the patch though.

If its any consolation, its seems to be a free for all at the moment, GM's are reinbursing nearly everything. It used to be "You cant prove it, we dont reinburse it"
Now you can sneaze and they will give you a fresh hanky |

Edited by: Sunbird Huy on 08/04/2009 17:28:17 I will try downloading the new client, but I'm pretty much fedup that every patch causes such stuff.
My ISP, router and everything else work real well with other internet stuff, including FPS games (COD4) and such.
Desync or not, I thought they were really good with this? If we are to reinstall client whenever they mess up, where's the end?

didn't read it cause it's in red.
i clicked the "OH?" link and if you're whining that the rats are spawning 6m km away, that's cause you're desynched. blame your isp, relog. --

thanks for reluctently answering my question somewhat.
also, red sucks tbh.
Deync can be caused by various reasons, and Data from you can help others to judge if youre in the "problemzone" or not.. so, what router,ISP you use currently? :)
and i dont care that "other games" run fine. apparently one game at least dont work properly, so lets try to figure that out. Wanna help or not? ^^

quite simply, YES! Thousands of players connect to EVE all the time without problems, it's almost always on the players end (bad install, bad OS install, old drivers, problems with ISP) etc... Yes, there are bugs but if you don't make sure it's not at your end first, CCP probably wont take the time to listen to you. Here, sanity... niiiice sanity, come to daddy... okay, that's a good sanity... *THWONK!* GOT the bastard. |

Same here but only the odd crash if I change ships with the fitting screen open. But that is easily avoided by not having the fitting screen open when you change ships. Not saying the op is lying about his issues but I think his target for the cause of it all is a little off the mark.

The screen was taken after I re-loged. I logged out in a safespot on a POS, while the rats were shooting me through POS shields, and i left damage control and kinetic hardener on, along with dual reps. The alignment of modules, is such that I put the "aggressive" kind of modules on bottom, because I barely use them, and they are there in case I get hit by a small gang. The neut and point are there to kill an unfortunate minor ganker or two. There's 3 cap rechargers, and I barely have to use even the one rep to tank triple usurper spawn. And if I leave it running, it runs perma. For the second one, I need to use the NOS on the BS rats. 2x salvager, afterburner and tractor beam, coz I make more isk making rigs and melting loot into minerals than I make by pure bounties.
And UI is setup to my convenience, as you can see, tank on top(domi is such ship), carebear stuff in mid , and the mentioned NOS's and Neut + point in lowest row.
Translate for those that can't use common sense : RATTING ship that can tank and kill players too. I'm not saying it's a great fit, but does the job rather well.
And the cap died while I was logged out, along with the armor and part of structure. NOS wouldn't activate, as those targets were too far (6mill km away) for my NOS to reach them.
EDIT: Ah snap, I forgot that overview setup is the one with gates... DOH!
EDIT2: Obviously, I'm gonna give up the red font color :P...
As for the Desync Issue, I've un-installed the client, removed the cache and everything completely. Now just to download the client all over again, for millionth time.

Edited by: Sunbird Huy on 10/04/2009 19:44:10 Ok, client re-installed. Also, router was turned off, unpluged, cleaned, and what not.
The wrecks still appear randomly off the explosion spot, cans do the same after salvaging is done.
P.S. the petition about some of these issues that was sent, has been almost 1month old now, still not even an acknowledgment that they received it.
Another issue, when people on my address book log on or off, the game freezes for a second or two or drops down to 0.0001 FPS.
Tbh, I was having less issues with original apocrypha release, than I'm having with the patched one. Good job...

Sounds like your cache might be messed up somehow.
Also My client used to do the 0.01FPS thing quite a lot... until I sorted out all my loose bookmarks into folders. Turns out that having people & places open all the time with over 1,100 bookmarks does cause some performance issues... Might be worth clearing out your address book also.
