Hi there,
I know this has been posted before, but I cannot find the thread, so if someone could either answer my question of refer me to the appropriate thread I'd really appreciate it.
I have FRAPS now and got it working and all that. The one problem I'm getting is the known problem about it only capturing a quarter of the screen. It says it can only capture in 640x480 res...well...Eve will run in a minimum of 1024x768...am I missing something? How do people get this to work? I've tried it in windowed mode AND fullscreen...doesn't make a difference.
If anyone can let me know I'd appreciate it.

I hate to ask a follow-up question like this, but... Do you have a fully registered version of Fraps?
If so, some more stupid questions:
On the MOVIES tab of fraps, do you have " Full size " selected?
If either of these are NO answers, problem solved. IF both are yes... I'm sorry I couldnt help.

It is fully registered yes...but I got it a while ago when I was running 98se and it didn't work on 98se (only 2000/XP would work). So I never tried using it again until today since I recently gave in to the pressure and installed XP on my machine to meet the demands of the majority of news apps that require it.
I have FRAPS version 1.9D.
Is that any help?

Then movies tab... select Full-size and 30fps. Remember also select the folders you are going to record.
You might have noticed, the "raw" material recorded by fraps takes awfully lot of HD space. You have to use for example Virtual-Dub to "edit" the movie clip you recorded, and naturally you have to have some codec to use compress that clip. I would chooce latest DivX. You can resize the clip with that way.
There was some thread on www.warcenter.com(I think) how to use fraps and other tools to make some game movies.
edit: this goes with Fraps 2.0... hope it helps with your version. |

Alright, trying all this now...hope it works :)
As for compression and encoding and so on, I'm experienced with that, so I don't think I'll have difficulties (me thinks, hehe). It was just Fraps not capturing the whole screen that boggled my mind...will keep you updated with the results...

Also the newer version of fraps barely cuts down your fps now which is excellent
I have the body of a supermodel. I just can't remember where I left it... |
