How does this even happen?
Seriously, I'm running a scenario through my head of someone setting up a LAN party, and I just can't figure out how on Earth anyone could possibly electrocute themselves in the process.

No.
Kneb was awesome. I remember getting banned on the GOTHS vent a few times, and in each case Kneb unbanned me. (even my VPNs) His altruistic ways are not to be forgotten. :'(

i find this topic disturbing on many differnt levels none from the op.. my condolences to the family of Kneb didnt know the guy but hate to hear about something like this happening... and although most wont think asking for isk donations for a shipt to remember the guy isnt the best idea, it makes sense his friends trying to honor him in a way they think would make him happy.
as for you goonswarm tools get a life you worthless trolls you alliance is notheing but the largest collection of ignorant trash i have ever come in contact with, you treat every topic on the eve forms like its a post on your private server flameing anything and everyone, if you dont agree with what the op has to say act like an adult and stay out of the topic this mans family doenst need to see the ignorace you have to post cause you can..
and as for ccp mods have some respect for the dead and clean this post up you should be shamed of yourselfs for leting it get to 4 pages of goontrash makeing fun at the way this man died, how would you feel if this was your friend or family member
i am truley ashamed to call myself a member of the eve community after this and i have been a loyal support of eve since the early stages of beta. i have watched eve and its forms degrade into the trash we see today due to goontrash and the disrespect they show everyone thats not in there alliance/corp, make me sad that eve has turned into shadowbane in space.

Boo hoo, so quit the game already. If anyone should have respect for the dead it should be the people in GOTH. Goons aren't the one trying to turn this guys memory into a source of income. Seriously, at what point did someone think, "Hey, instead of just letting the people who need to know about Kneb dying, I'll make a big ass post on CAOD and try to make some ISK off of it"?

Well some people think of eve as an online community and end up flying with all types of people, and forming friendships. This was a good way to let people know about his death. YES tacky to ask for ISK donations but meh.
If you can't be respectful just stfu about it and be *******s on voice comms about it to each other. You don't have to **** on everything in this game, but for some reason ya'll are hell bent on doing so.
wtf is your thought process for you guys to just say "hey guys lets troll this post about a dead guy and make dumb ass jokes about it"?
If you were at work and somebody said their father just died, and asked if you felt like it you could donate to a memorial they were making? Would you just start crackin jokes to the guy about how the guy died? No you wouldn't you'd clam up. Its nice you can hide behind the internet just to act like a **** because you wouldn't have the balls to do it in rl.
Hurry up and get bored with eve so you can move on and **** up some other game.

I think there is a slight difference between a father and someone you play an online game with and probably on met a few, if any, times. And if that person at work asked me for money so they could buy a new Mercedes as a memorial for their father, I would call them on it. I would be more polite since I have to work with them and would not want to get called to HR, but I would let them know they were a jackass. But nicely.

Actually a better analogy would be: Some random guy on the street approaches you and says: "Excuse me, my boss died and now we want to buy a corporate jet dedicated to him, would you donate money for it?"
P.S.: Actually...since this forum is frequented by a lot of goons...Cancel "on the street" and replace it with "in a mental hospital".

Not really its still a person who died. Its nice you have full license to make fun of somebody that just died though. Good on you for making good excuses to be a complete waste of human life instead of just not posting.

Real people play the game and in some cases real friendships are formed and members of the same family play the game together. And real people interact with one another.

Maybe you didn't notice, but most ppl aren't making fun of his death but of the fact that you use it to squeeze money for a ****ing Titan out of strangers.

You know, you're right. There is almost no difference between the father of someone I work with and a complete stranger. You know, a highway patrolman was seriously injured not to far from here tonight. Would you like to send me some money so I can start a memorial for him?
And I don't recall making any posts making fun of the guy who died, I just made posts making fun of the people who thought starting this thread was a good idea. Tell you what, if you stop posting I'll stop posting. Actually, I'll stop first because I'm going to bed so feel free to continue being self-righteous.

Actually I did notice that there were a lot of jokes about how he died, instead of focusing mainly on what they should have which was trying to get isk from people at the expense of his death which is up there with what you guys are doing, pretty awful.
I'll just leave it at that. You guys do whatever you want, just add this to your long history of making fun of other players that died. Justify it any way you want.
