Over the past week i've spent about 1 Billion credits and well I must be doing something wrong Since coming back to EvE.
My style of gameplay is mainly solo pve atleast for now and I can do upto level 3 missions fine.
But level 4 missions are kicking my ass and costing me a huge amount of credits.
(My alt a 5.3million sp Gallente droner in a Dominix can ace level 4 mishes) but the char i've invested alot of time into is my main char. He has 13.4 million sp is caldari many level 5 skills missiles, rails etc.
And yes i've been to battleclinic, I have evemon and eft.
My Drake aces l3 but got wiped in l4 (nice perma shield tank/heavy missiles setup) My navy raven, lovely ship but i'm missing something because in my last mission I hadto fit faction missiles to take down 2 GIS BB's my cruises were doing 90-100 max and it was regenning before I got it to go down (yes my drones can take out the cruisers etc) MY rokh well im at a loss with it, fitted it with rails 425's love it but its cap goes bai bai after 1 min, even with ccc's.
Can someone point me to a valid tested cap stable rokh or normal raven OR something I can reliably fight l4 mishes with.
OR
Is there a "best solo l4 friendly BB" out there I don't mind learning another races ships.
I am just tired of wasting money and ships and getting nothing but frustration.
Sorry for the rant.

Erm, Ravens are probably one of the better ships for doing level 4 missions.
This should be cap stable with reasonable skills:
6 x cruise launcher 2 x heavy NOS
1 x Large shield booster 1 x Shield boost amp 4 x Active mission-specific hardeners
3 x BCS 2 x PDS
3 x Capacitor Control Circuit
Make sure you're fitting multiple ballistic control systems since in a shield-tanked ship you have no excuse for not increasing your damage like this. Also make sure that you're doing the right damage type for the NPCs and you should be fine.

Edited by: Grista on 11/04/2009 19:54:22 To add, I'm told some level 4 missions require a lot of initial boosting until some of the dps ships are killed. Some players will fit an XL Shield Booster and use a Cap Booster with 800s for those missions. The Raven was and remains the king of mission running.
You should be able to complete any level 4 mission in an unrigged Raven, with Cruise and missile support skills at level IV. Remember, people ran a ton of missions before Rigs were added to the game, although Cap Control Circuits will certainly boost your regen and make it easier. Make SURE you're using T2 hardeners and the right ones based on what you're fighting. Angels and Mercs will likely be more difficult than any other mission NPC.
If you do use another BS, keep in mind you should be using the smaller sized long range turret weapon. E.G. 1200 Artillery, 350mm Rails - not 1400s/425s - due to the smaller sig radius of Cruisers/Battlecruisers which can put out a lot of dps.

I've been running level 4s for quite a while with this fitting:
6 x Arbalest Cruise Launcher 1 x Heavy NOS (I use a Heavy Diminishing or Ghoul) 1 x Small tractor
XL C-5 Emergency Shield Overload 2 x Shield Boost Amplifier I 3 x rat specific active T2 hardeners
5 x Hob II 5 x Hammer II
3 x CCC rigs
sometimes swap a shield boost amp out for a Heavy Cap Booster with 800s
as long as you read the mission guides and don't pull full aggro in WC4 or The Assault this fitting is fine. I'll finally start training Shield Management V in a couple of days.
