Can someone please provide me with an overview on Empire Dog Tags? It says in the info that they can be of value to the particular organization.
I've accumulated several different ones, some have skull/xbones, some don't. I get a warning message about leaving a station with the ones that have the skull/xbones, but funnily enough didn't get a message when I docked into that station after scoring them off of rats.
Are they useful, should I save them? Do they have value to other players (i.e. trade?) And how safe would it be to take them to my base station for vaulting?
Edit: I did google for this information, and nothing immediately came up that seemed reliable and coherent. Success is not the result of spontaneous combustion, you must set yourself on fire. |

Tags have three uses.
Some are used by players for LP store offers...
Some are simply bought by NPCs.
And many are used for "datacenters", where agents in space reward tags with faction standing.

Tags have a few uses...
- As was said, datacenter agents will take specific tags and reward you with faction standing. This is a one-off thing for each agent though. - Many LP store offers require tags from that faction's main enemy. - You can sell tags for ISK at a faction navy station. Sometimes there will be player buy orders up as well for more ISK (because they need the tags to get an LP store item)
Only the empire faction tags are considered contraband, and they're not contraband everywhere, just in the space of whatever faction they belong to (e.g. a Gallente tag is contraband in Gallente and Minmatar space but not in Amarr or Caldari space). They'll still show the skill and crossbones icon though and you can't contract them ever.
For a faction rat that has no bounty, the tag *is* the bounty for all intents and purposes, so make sure you loot them and sell them.

Dredging the memory here but I think there is a tag that is used in Angel Extra mission to open up the bonus room to so that's another use of tags. _____________________________________________

You never get a message docking. It does not boggle the mind that flying around Gallante space with Gallente Navy dogtags in your hold is not the smartest thing. Check the info of the tags, you will see where they are illegal. Many other things are illegal, especially drugs. Take note that things you pick up don't always show the crossbones, only if it is illegal in that system. You can be cargo scanned and stopped by custom ships in empire space. If you are carrying something illegal you will have to pay the penalty. I dare you to Fight My Brute ! |

You need the Gurista's Diamond Tag to get into the 6th room in Gurista's Extravaganza.
Same for Angels Extravaganza - need Angels Diamond Tag to get into the 6th room. |
