The best you'll make is 10%, if you're lucky. Since so many players think mining minerals is "free", the margin on just about any t1 ship is close to the value of the minerals used to manufacture it.
Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but there really is no profit for a fledgling manufacturer making t1 ships. In fact, not a whole lot of any t1 item is worth manufacturing for a steady income.
The competition and ease of entry into manufacturing just makes it this way.

And naturally the moment someone tells you what to build that is profitable in a public forum, 100 people will start making it and by the time you are ready to sell the competition will cause the profit to vanish.

Build dominixes, brutixes, thoraxes, megathrons, and any other gallente ships I want to fly. They will make you great profits.
PS. I like cheap ships

One easy trick is to find a low sec hub where people use it as a cyno hub, then u sell kestrels, cyno generators, and proceed to kill every cyno ship u can see...

I regularly make ships with up to 100% profit. but a usual amount is about 20% for me. its not worth the effort for 10%. my only tip is check out the mission hubs. -----------------------

Nobody will tell you WHAT to make, however Akita T has some good posts giving you ideas on how to determine that for yourself. I saw some of the posts ont he front page, not sure if it was the manufacture specifically tho since there is a few posts like that.

Actualy, Manufacturing and pirating can be very profitable when you combine them. Before my old account was hacked (guess why) I would sell fighters in low sec near 0.0 gates and wait for saps to leave with the merchandise. Blow them up and recover the fighter then resell it. Try it

TBH, I don't think a word of what you said there is true. I regularly make 20-30% on ships and often 100% or more on modules. Just find the right region. You will need a bit of capital (say 30M minimum) for BPOS and minerals. More is of course better. But a bit of market research will make you a lot more money.
Edit: I'll expand on how to do research. Go through items you or others use a lot (primarily the race predominant in your area) and calculate the mineral cost vs. the sale cost (a spreadsheet, either your own or off these forums, might help). Modules are usually better than ships. Also look at volume - if only a few are sold in an area, don't bother. Finally, pick some items to manufacture and build them.
Edit 2: See also this thread. |

If you need a manufacturing profit tool check out www.eveindustry.co.cc. Does all the hard work for you. Calculates profit from mineral/items used. Takes into account your skills etc.
Hope this helps if you go down this route.

Here's a serious suggestion. Build cruiser hulls required for t2 invention, and sell them in stations where a bunch of t2 manufacture is taking place.
You can identify those stations by looking for copy, invention and manufacturing slots all in one place. If you see invention slots busy for 2+ days, you've found your market.
High demand (once turned into t2) modules and R.A.Ms can be sold there for 10% profit or higher.

good advice.
also look at the volume moved and average price graphs. -
