Nito Musashi	Posted - 2009.05.23 00:19:00 - [58] homeworld is a game that is one of the best rts of all time, it sure broke alot of ground and did things that many space games/rts borrowed heavily from if not copied outright. i remember back in the day the music was so haunting and how your ships would bob around like on the ocean with the stars fixed in the background was just gorgeous for it's time. and god were the last 2 or 3 stages in that game epically hard.

Re-building all the models in HW2 with its different shaders is very time consuming I happen to have all 3 HW titles... love them. The Carrier has always been my favourite ship in the game

More I think about it, the more it seems that Eve art was inspired by HW. I'll have to dig out my copy of the game. Have to say, though - I like HW1 much more than the others.

Also anyone play that mission with HUGE ball made out of ion frigs that you had you somehow had to get in destory a station,i must have built 30 of those ships that let capture there ship(forgot the name) lol i ended up with like 300 ships after that mission.

Pater Peccavi Minmatar Tribal Liberation Force	Posted - 2009.07.30 01:41:00 - [78] Didn't see this thread the first time around, glad someone necro'd it. I spent a lot of time in HW. Never beat the campaign (stopped at the level with the massive sphere of ships surrounding another ship) but played a lot of skirmish games (couldn't get online in those days). Salvage frigates were fun, I got good at pirating vessels with those, but the Gravwell Generator was awesome to play with. I forget what its main purpose was (messing up frigates or something like that) but it could also be used to interrupt ships that were jumping. I kept trying to find a tactical use for that, sending in a gravwell frigate to keep ships hidden for extended periods of time, forming a defensive area around my mothership where enemies couldn't jump in, etc. ______ Why has the number of players online dropped from 50k to 25k? BECAUSE OF SWINE FLU
